An amazing show, we went 2 nights in a row and laughed hysterically both nights. We discovered some rising comedians and even got to talk to the after as many of them are just hanging out around the club during and after the shows ....More

Just what you would expect in an iconic comedy theatre, dark and dingy with round stool tables and uncomfortable chairs scattered around. It was classic! Entrance is fair at $20 with a two drink minimum. Beers are $8 or $9 with a limited selection but...More

Was blown away that pretty much every encounter with the staff, from door dude to the waiters, was nothing but kindness and welcoming. That is what really stood out to me aside from getting to see big name comics in one night.

My husband surprised me with front row table seats for the Saturday night 7pm show. Needless to say, as we are an older couple, the comedians had a field day with us. Haven't laughed so hard in a long time. Can't wait to go back.

Price is decent at $20 a ticket for a Saturday night with two drink minimum. Mixed drinks are priced at about $12. Beer in the bottle is about $7 or $8. The margaritas were average but the show was very funny. The 10pm show ran...More

Our first night in the city we hit the comedy store for a killer line up. The night was outstanding aside from the fact that the headliner was a no show and there was no communication about her missing from the set.

Search their website and see if they may also have big names already headlining. I'd also check with The Improv which is right down the same street (about a 20 minute walk). You also have an Improv in other cities in... More

Comedy Club Question (5 Replies)
I am interested in visiting a few comedy clubs during our trip but don't have a plan to which ones yet exactly. Do you have to buy tickets to the shows in advance, or can I buy tickets the day of? Wander in off the street? I'm interested in any of them, but mostly: The Laugh Factory, Improv and the Comedy Store. Thanks!

Each website has details regarding ticket purchases, and each club is different, depending on the day and the act.

Hi, Forgot to ask... Which is the best comedy club in LA? We prefer stand-up to improv and love the Comedy Store in London. Would we need to pre-book for a Saturday night? Also, is there a main bar area in LA or are they spread out? Where's fun? Also, how do you get tickets for TV shows? Also.. where's a good outlet shopping centre in LA? We're not into designer stuff, more GAP, Old Navy, cheap jeans, sneakers etc. Is Universal studios worth a fun day out?

I can't say that I go enough to detect a real quality difference between the various comedy venues. I'd say a lot depends upon the performer. It goes without saying L.A. is very spread out. Nightlife is to be found all over. The easiest area for clubbing in a traditional sense is Hollywood. The scene has really mushroomed and matured the past few years. You can actually walk from one club to another, unlike most other neighborhoods. I don't know where you can get tickets for TV...More

Stay in Hollywood, it's got great mass transit. 1 day Universal, in the evening, Comedy Store. Universal via Metro red, Comedy store via Lyft. 1 day get a Lyft to Santa Monica, ask the driver to go by way of Rodeo Drive, it's easy. Visit Venice Beach by bicycle from Santa Monica. Evening, do Hollywood's walk of fame (Dolby theater is along the route). Return to hotel via Metro bus #704 1 day for Warner Bros in the morning, via Lyft, afterwards Lyft to downtown LA for OUE Skyspace and...More
