The building was pretty but there really wasn't much to see and the fountain out front wasn't running so not real impressed with this stop.

The lodge itself is a national historical landmark, being one of California's original mountain resort hotels that was established in 1856. If you are going to stay there, just be aware that only half of their rooms have a private bathroom and the others are...More

We noticed this charming lodge on our way to Yosemite Valley Lodge, and although it isn't in the heart of Yosemite Valley, it has a lot of history and Southern style charm. We intended to have lunch here on the way to Sequoia and Kings...More

A grand old hotel originally built by the Washburn brothers. Take sometime and wander through the Pioneer center first and you'll appreciate the history of the hotel that much more. I'm a local and take people there often. The dining room is such a step...More

The location and setting of this lodge is just perfect. It really feels like you are in the Deep South with the big pitches and rocking chairs. So many great historical pictures of days gone by. A great place to stop.

Call what you will but I will always refer to this as the Wawona Hotel. Never disappoints and if you're hungry this is a must on the list of places to eat in Yosemite. Once the snow melts make sure to hit the golf course...More

We enjoyed the quiet Victorian style accommodations. The room was very small but it was clean. Take advantage of the meadow hike across the street or the short hike to the covered bridge and horses next door. Dinner was over-priced but good.

The Mariposa Grove was about a 10 minute drive from Big Trees Lodge. However, it was closed in July 2017 due to a controlled burn. Not sure when it reopens.
