I have driven to San Francisco across the Bay Bridge perhaps a hundred times over the years but have always been bothered by the traffic and difficult parking. Especially in the last five years or so. When doing touristy stuff with family and friends I have usually been the one stressed out as I am the one doing the driving.... More

My son & I took the ferry to enjoy a day in San Francisco. The drive into the City has gotten so bad that it could take hours to get over the Bay Bridge, then there's parking to find (& afford)--such a hassle--so I saw the TA ferry reviews & thought we'd give it a try. It was amazing. The... More

This ferry trip was the kids first to SFO. The ferry was clean and accommodating with an on board concession bar; water, sodas, alcohol and snacks. Cash only. The seating was nice and spacious. Sure wish the airlines would take notice. No outside seating, little standing room. Wish there was more outdoor areas. I would ride this daily if I... More

Whether sightseeing with friends, dinner with your special someone, or taking in a Giants game, the ferry is the only way to go to the city! Very relaxing & smooth.

Particularly if you live in the Sacramento valley this is the best way to travel Pac Bell for a Giants game. It's inexpensive, relaxing and a retreat from hot, hot valley. I love this experience and it reminds every time of why I live in California. Having moved from the Midwest, I am so lucky to have this experience. It's... More

Great bar, coffee house at the Ferry building. You can also browse all the great things to do all around Northern California if you are from out of town. Parking is easy in the lot although you pay $5 bucks I think.

Park and ride to the Pier or AT&T Park to enjoy the Giants game. I have enjoyed riding this ferry for many years and cannot say enough about it. I have always enjoyed tip-top customer service, a smooth and safe ride and have loved meeting the wonderful people riding along with us.

Smooth ride on a relatively clear day, and best against the flow of the peak hour travellers. San Francisco to Vallejo in the morning, and the return after 2pm. Pleasant crew and bar staff and a pile of room.

This is great, about $27 round trip from Vallejo to Pier 41. Also stops at the ferry terminal. Park across the street at one of 2 lots or a garage, they lot i parked in was $5 for the day. I got on the boat and went upstairs for a good view. It took about an hour to get into... More

Many trips on the ferry, to avoid getting across the bay bridge...parking in the city...traffic in the city. Best way to get there in my opinion.
