Flourishes in the summer but boggy right now thanks to the heavy rain. Areas are being cared for and worked on but some blossom has appeared and the cactus and tropical houses are ripe with glorious varied plants from cotton plants, ginger and even a mini pineapple!

My wife and I visited the University Botanical Gardens in early December on a bitterly cold morning, but what a delightful experience it was! Being early December there was little in the way of colour in the Garden as we expected, but the frost had taken over many of the plant structures and made for a beautiful sight which would not be seen too often or at many other times of the year. Glasshouses were interesting, but the gardens inspired us most. We will be back when next in Leicester and hopefully at another time of year.

Although this appears in Trip Advisors own list of things to do in Leicester I am amazed by how few locals have visited it. The walk around the grounds can easily fill an hour or so and everytime we visit we see something new. If you go in late February / Early March you can see the Crocus display, but every month there is a highlight. If only there was a café on site, it would be perfect.

I love to go to Botanical Garden to see the season changes. I went in the raining day in November and enjoyed every minute of it.

I went to the University of Leicester and only discovered this amazing garden in my last week living in the city. If you live in Oadby, especially as a student, this is the perfect place to relax and get some peace! My favourite part is the tropical garden, although I find the cacti I bit weird.
