Description:

For the modern family that prefers substance with a unique, laid-back...

For the modern family that prefers substance with a unique, laid-back style, Northstar California Resort combines California cool with high-end luxury, on-mountain exhilaration with a sophisticated alpine village atmosphere. Halfway between one of North America's coolest mountain towns and one of the world's most beautiful alpine lakes, Northstar is a destination on the rise, having poured nearly a billion dollars into creating Lake Tahoe's premier luxury snowsports experience. Upscale shops, refined dining and Lake Tahoe's only five-star slopeside lodging is married to impeccable grooming, incredible tree skiing and enough variety to challenge every level of skier (and world-class terrain parks to keep the kids busy). Those who come to Northstar know what they're looking for. Sometimes it's adventure, sometimes it's to learn, sometimes it's to relax in a welcoming place with family and friends. No matter what that experience is, they'll find it to be exactly the way it should be.

If you are looking for a condo - winter or summer - Northstar California ski resort has some very roomy, comfortable condos for rent -- called Ski Trails. My most recent stay was in July with my wife. It was a very enjoyable stay - very peaceful, nice scenery, convenient parking right outside our one-bedroom apartment, full kitchen, outdoor deck... NOTE: This is a review for summertime at Northstar, as I have not been during winter. My family of nine (grandparents, aunt, uncle, wife and me and 3 small kids) found Northstar to be quite a fun place to hang out. We stayed at the Ritz Carlton so we were connected to Northstar via a Gondola, which was wonderful. When... More

Had a lovely 2 bedroom unit overlooking the plaza. Balcony was fun for people watching although the piano bar was very loud. Fun to watch the kids skate at the rink. Unit was scrupulously clean & well maintained. Great value for two couples. We were there early July but wish there had been more dinner choices in the facility

Northstar has a great Mtn Bike park. Lift access and trails for all levels . They have bike and equipment rentals. Staff very friendly and welcoming . The trails were fun and exciting . I rode black and double black trails as my wife ride blue and green. Fun times had . They have mid-mtn and village dinning experiences .... More

It had been years since I last skied in Tahoe and found a great deal so I decided to go since I had heard the snow was great this year. And, maybe I'm just spoiled but I would say the snow was "eh" at best... I became acutely familiar with Sierra cement. Don't see myself taking another ski trip to... More

I have some wonderful memories riding at NorthStar. Can't wait for Winter Season 2016-2017!! Rode there on my Epic Locals pass several times last season and I always leave there with a huge smile on my face. Back side Express is epic! Groomers, Un-Groomed and Tree Runs galore and a high speed quad to get you back to the top... More

Northstar gets a reasonable amount of snow for a Sierra ski resort, and has a good terrain selection. However, there are better choices for skiing in the area, particularly as Northstar continues to add to its timeshares and "village", making it increasingly overwhelmed by crowds. The biggest issue with Northstar is the crowds on the ski slopes and the lack... More

Beautiful resort right at the top of the hill. It's a great ski location. We enjoyed fly fishing and the bike ride along the river.

Some really good runs here - great diversity, great views, and really good for progression. The Black and Blue runs out the back helped us gain confidence to tackle more challenging terrain, and the difficulty of the runs aren't miles apart (which means we can slowly push our boundaries). The Burton Progression Park is amazing - "Tiny" features that allow... More

Exceedingly well maintained, groomed and managed ski resort. As with all of the big resorts, expensive but once you get over that shock, this is the best all round ski resort in the area. Plenty of runs to choose from, for all levels, but if cruising the blue runs and taking the odd black run every now and again is... More
