Description:

For the modern family that prefers substance with a unique, laid-back...

For the modern family that prefers substance with a unique, laid-back style, Northstar California Resort combines California cool with high-end luxury, on-mountain exhilaration with a sophisticated alpine village atmosphere. Halfway between one of North America's coolest mountain towns and one of the world's most beautiful alpine lakes, Northstar is a destination on the rise, having poured nearly a billion dollars into creating Lake Tahoe's premier luxury snowsports experience. Upscale shops, refined dining and Lake Tahoe's only five-star slopeside lodging is married to impeccable grooming, incredible tree skiing and enough variety to challenge every level of skier (and world-class terrain parks to keep the kids busy). Those who come to Northstar know what they're looking for. Sometimes it's adventure, sometimes it's to learn, sometimes it's to relax in a welcoming place with family and friends. No matter what that experience is, they'll find it to be exactly the way it should be.

We go to Northstar in the summer We like their package of Scenic Lift, Hike and Down Hill Grill lunch We did this as a family. The ticket includes the Gondola up the hill to the first stop. Here we stop for lunch at the Down Hill Grill. The lunch was what you would expect for a grill. After lunch,... More

This is one of my favorite mountains to ski in the area. The groomers do an excellent job. I love the trails, some are long and some are short. so many to choose from at so many different levels...If you want powder, there are secret stashes....Get the Epic Mix free app and if will record all your stats, how many... Spent two of our six days on the slopes in the Lake Tahoe area at Northstar. The lifts were running, the powder was amazing and the facilities were great. They cater to those who want to open their wallets as well as those who are on a budget. Plenty of places to sit and eat lunch. A charging station for... More

I love Northstar. In fact, my absolute favorite place to ski in the WORLD is the "Backside" at Northstar, mile-long advanced runs that are the perfect pitch for my advanced but not expert level. I am always keen to come back. That, combined with a great village and good gluten-free options both on-mountain and in the village, nice amenities, makes... More

Great resort with something for everyone, great for teens and we also had fresh snow for our visit so it was amazing. Live music playing near the ice skating rink.

We have visited several times over the year and have always enjoyed it. Our kids and now our grandkids love it there. Good food at the lodge as well as the bar.

The skiing was great and the runs were well groomed...But the staff was lacking in knowledge about general operations. Every time we asked a question about location of a lift or runs or ski school or rentals or really anything, we were either told to ask someone else or given wrong information. It was incredibly frustrating. AND for the record,... More

We love Northstar, although it is very expensive. The food is great, and the snow conditions always well groomed. this trip, some of us went cross country skiing, which was also very fun. The cool thing about cross country skiing or snowshoing was that you can take the Zephyr express up to the top of the mountain also and get... More
