For the modern family that prefers substance with a unique, laid-back...

For the modern family that prefers substance with a unique, laid-back style, Northstar California Resort combines California cool with high-end luxury, on-mountain exhilaration with a sophisticated alpine village atmosphere. Halfway between one of North America's coolest mountain towns and one of the world's most beautiful alpine lakes, Northstar is a destination on the rise, having poured nearly a billion dollars into creating Lake Tahoe's premier luxury snowsports experience. Upscale shops, refined dining and Lake Tahoe's only five-star slopeside lodging is married to impeccable grooming, incredible tree skiing and enough variety to challenge every level of skier (and world-class terrain parks to keep the kids busy). Those who come to Northstar know what they're looking for. Sometimes it's adventure, sometimes it's to learn, sometimes it's to relax in a welcoming place with family and friends. No matter what that experience is, they'll find it to be exactly the way it should be.

Not many people, few restaurants open, fine accommodations at good prices and lots of activities for everyone. No snow and fine mild weather too. Unlimited bike activities, roller skating, rock wall climbing, hiking, lake water activities, golf, pool and hot tub, etc.

I enjoyed the Northstar Village during Winter, but came back Summertime and it was a ghost town. Barely anything open at the village and all outdoor activities were available only on weekends because it was extremely slow. Best to just enjoy during Winter.

Was at Northstar resort for a wedding and did only spend 2 nights, but loved the place. Stayed in The village in a "unit" = apartment. Fine and well equipped place, with all you really need. Construction did wake us up Saturday morning at 7 - actually not ok! The place is beautiful, clean and so fresh. Went for a... More

Over the years I have skied Northstar Ski resort. I have the season pass at Heavenly that includes Northstar. It is a bit of a walk from the shuttle drop off (from from the parking lots) to the gondola, through the village, but that how its designed. The trails and lift are decent and they groom the snow very nice.

Stayed in the village during the summer and there were a lot of things to do. Not many shops open. Mini golf, roller skating, biking, food, gondola, drinking, etc. Went for a couple get away and sow lots lots of families there, too.

Nice long runs, easy to navigate. They blow snow if the season is lacking in weather. The staff is friendly and the village is very family friendly and cozy.

Ski resort with condos and village provided a delightful summer getaway. A week in the mountains, lovely condo, beautifully appointed and equipped. Perfect for relaxing and enjoying village activities or a short drive to either Truckee or Tahoe.

I love Northstar and all that it offers. We have skied there for over 30 years and it is consistently amazing. They have created a great family atmosphere so you have fun and feel safe. Great snow making equipment when snow is needed. Love going to ice skating rink after skiing and watching while having a snow-drink. Summer's are awesome... More

My boyfriend found the Condominium resort online. We booked the place for 1 night and it was more than we expected. We get to the front desk, receptionist are knowledgeable and friendly. Show us where to go, give us a map, and we are on our way. The condo we stayed was so quaint and welcoming. Felt like our own... More
