My husband and I took the 2 hour trail ride and had a great ride. Our guide Alyssa (may have spelled her name wrong) was very pleasant to ride with and very knowledgeable of the area we rode through. The trail wound through beautiful scenery and was a little rugged in spots, but the horses were really steady and my husband (very much a beginner at riding) had no trouble negotiating the terrain. We look forward to riding with Piping Rock again next time we’re in the Reno area.

Very friendly staff and gentle, sweet horses! My two girlfriends and I took the Prosser Plateau ride in Aug 2020, the owner took us on the ride himself and he was a great guide! We were of varying riding abilities and everything went smoothly. Our ride gave us great views of the Tahoe forest, we even saw deer along the trail. The staff at Piping Rock were well organized and friendly - they have social distancing/COVID-19 safety protocols in place and we all felt very safe and comfortable.

We decided to lease a horse part time for our 13yr old daughter. This is suppose to be something enjoyable and life learning, safe and fun. Safe is a term I question now. On multiple occasions our daughter has been verbally abused from the manager Lisa. We thought this was an isolated incident. Come to find out it’s well known around the ranch. She lacks professionalism and has on multiple occasions yelled and cussed out other children. She will also discuss financial info with the children rather than the adult who handles this. I’m not sure why the reviews are so positive. Maybe the horse camps have better luck. We have become very disappointed with what we’re paying a material amount of money for.

Our daughter has completed two week-long Horse Day camps, with two more scheduled for this Summer. Staff are professional, caring and fun. The horses are well cared for, and children learn how to groom, ride, and develop a love for all animals. There are other critter at the stable that kids get to learn about and care for. Our daughter thrives at Piping Rock!
