The Northstar-at-Tahoe™ Resort golf course in Lake Tahoe, California is an 18-hole, par-72 (men and women) course that will both challenge golfers’ skills and appeal to their senses. Designed by Robert Muir Graves, the course integrates Tahoe’s rugged, wooded landscape with wavy bunkers and putting greens. The result is an active golf course whose features create a flow of movement that seamlessly moves in and over the natural terrain.Playing up to 6,781 yards, the Northstar® Resort golf course offers four tee locations and carries a rating of 72.4 from the Northern California Golf Association. The Mountain nine demands precise, tight play through tree-lined fairways and across small greens. The Meadow nine opens up to a links-style course allowing golfers to grip it and rip it!

we play this course on the way to Lake Tahoe. The two 9's are a different as can be. The front is flat and the back 9 is mountainous. The back is more challenging with blind shots with severe elevation changes.

As a longtime Tahoe resident, I have played this course many times and have always found the staff cordial and welcoming. Last week when I called for a tee time for nine holes on Wednesday, 07/20/2016, I was politely informed by Chris that they would only be able to book that 2 days before, but that it looked fairly good... 18 holes in North Tahoe area. Very reasonably priced for the area. Golf comes with cart. Front nine pretty wide open and flat. The back nine has more trees and the fairways are narrower than the front nine. Like playing two different golf courses. Course has a full club house and restaurant. Quite a few courses in the area but... More

North Star's golf course was a little on the shorter side (less than 6k from the whites) but was well maintained with a friendly staff. It's easy to walk or cart - our twosome did it in 3:50 on a Sunday morning walking (though warning, the back nine is a lot hillier than the front). The greens are nice, the... More

Played at Northstar and likes that they meted you at curbside and loaded you clubs on a golf cart. Checking in was easy, and efficient. The first 9 are wide open holes and the back 9 are treed with houses . The green were fast the day we were there due to some 15 mph winds, not so much fun... More

Beautiful, open front nine that is mostly flat and dry. The back nine is in the pines with streams and ponds, many bunkers with steep grades. The course is challenging and very well maintained. The staff is friendly and helpful. A great golf outing!

Decent but in need of a serious remodel and improvement to both the course and its amenities. You will have a much better experience at other golf courses that are a few miles away.

I loved my lessons in Vail and the property is owns Northstar. I take them every season as a refresher. I signed up for lessons and it rained and the credit they promised on 2/6/14 was never issued. This world renown lesson was just hearsay. I get it being busy but I followed in and phoned 7 more times. California... More

We played here 2 weeks ago and found the back 9 challenging with the long meandering and sloping fairways. Overall the fairways are in decent condition, not as smooth and lush as I prefer.

The back nine is difficult but beautiful. Bring plenty of balls if you hack like me. The front nine is in front of the mountain with a wonderful view of Martis Valley. This is only 35 miles to Reno so close to the airport, casinos and shows and lots of great restaurants.
