We have been going to the kidzone since are kids were one and three. When they were young, they primarily enjoyed the indoor play structuere and the thomas table. As they have gotten older they are into the art and the changing exhibits. KZ is part of the ACM so the membership is good at other childrens museums. Love this place.

This place is geared for kids of all ages. We found it on a snowed out cold and stormy day. Has all kinds of activities: from painting to costumes to books and crafts. Our 6 and 8 year did not want to leave. The main area had an African motif with a 'bazaar' setting, a hut, drums, books and many other African themed games. They change it each season. The person in charge (Leanne) was very helpful and gave us a bunch of good tips about Truckee. Compared to LA indoor activity places, KidsZone was dirt cheap too and much more fun. Highly recommended.

This place is AMAZING! My 2 kids, 4 and 2 yo, loved it! The admission is $8 and it is absolutely worth it!! From playground area to playing cooking and painting. They also have play area outside. We all had a great time at this place and the staff are very nice!!

I really love Kid Zone. I have taken my son here for years & he enjoys the art area, themed play area (sometimes it's under the sea, sometimes it's aviation, etc.), indoor playground, train table, magnets & oversized blocks. It's been a LIFESAVER in the cold, snowy months when you've got to get your child out of the house to burn off some steam. They also have a great outdoor area in summer where kids can use shovels, play with sand, go down a slide, etc. Having said all this-- Kid Zone is affectionately known as "germ zone" & it is. Most of us avoid Kid Zone if we are in a timeframe where we really cannot afford for our child to get sick, because there's a good shot soon after they leave, they will. It's a bummer & I'm not sure how Kid Zone can make this better except to try & be even more diligent with cleaning & hygiene. Also, parents should not bring their sick kids here as it's not fair to expose everyone else.
In any case, bottom line is that it's great we have this safe & fun play option for children in Truckee & the people who run & staff Kid Zone are exceptionally friendly & kind.

Called on Veterans Day to make sure they were open since we were driving 30 mins to get there. Told they were open so headed in. When we arrive there’s a sign saying they’re at capacity and we can call to get our name put on the waiting list. Would have been awesome if the person answering the phone had the initiative to mention that before we wasted our time driving in for nothing.

It can be difficult to find things for kids under 5 to do while visiting the Mountains. This gem in Truckee is the solution for at least a half day for that toddler to be fully engaged with lots of other kids. This is NOT day care, an adult must be present. Trust me, you will be glad you are with your child for this adventure. It has so many features for a small and humble facility, i must give them 5 stars. Truckee should be proud of this Museum as it is worth every penny spent.

We have been to bigger but not better kid zones. We had our 21/2 year old grandson he he loved it and did no want to leave even after three hours. A place to take a child that would like to have a good time in Truckee and not just the adults.

Our grandchildren enjoyed all the many hands on exhibits from the large train track to the plane and the outside exploration. They were able to put on rain boots and splash in small creeks. Great fun.

I took my 3 year old daughter here on a day the older kids were skiing. It is not huge, but the space is used very well with many different stations. It easily kept my daughter busy for 2+ hours and she didn't even really play with all that is available. The price is average to get in (I think $8/person from my memory-not cheap but not unreasonable), but worth the money if you are on vacation and want a worthwhile activity for a younger child. A play structure, an old airplane with props to play pilot and passenger, a playhouse, kitchen, tree-house with plush animals, a reading nook, an area with mats for babies, a separate room for art projects are just some of the sations I remember. My 8 and 10 year old boys would have played here, but probably would have been bored more easily and maybe ruined it for the younger children since they are so big and active.
