The Walk On Beach is accessible from the parking area and along the Bluff Trail from most location at The Sea Ranch. You will walk through cypress groves and along the bluff with crashing waves. The beach is broad with driftwood everywhere. As you continue from the beach north there are kelp beds, weathered sandstone formations, a rocky coast line, tide pool ( access may involve some uneven places to scurry down to the pools) and historical markers.. Along the trail is The Del Mar Landing Marine Reserve, a protected area with no fishing or collecting. All along the beach and coast you will see sea birds, the California brown pelican, cormorants and seals warming on the rocks. This day we saw gray whales, spouting and breaching fairly close to shore. The Marine Reserve has an Interpretive Guide as does the nearby Monarch Glen Trail.…

It's a nice beach. Not very long though. I see several people say its a great place to run dogs, but dogs have to be on a leash. And the trail south of Walk on is for residents only. Not a place that welcomes big groups.

The path along the beach is a great place to enjoy an ocean view and a walk thru a very unique cypress grove. With easy access to the beaches along the way, a perfect place for a picnic

This is one of our favorite weekend destinations in Northern California. Once you’ve settled into your rental unit, head out for a great, level hike along the bluffs, with a great opportunity to see whales up close. In the spring, the wildflowers are spectacular, in the fall, the weather is perfect. Multiple access points to beaches along the way. This is just a perfect hike.…
