Just did the tour with my elderly parents who are in their 70’s. Make sure to dress warm if it’s foggy - Sea Ranch is stunning but when you learn about the ethos and design philosophy thru Margaret who is an amazing tour guide, you are hooked. I told Margaret her tours must make people want to buy a home at sea ranch, she is passionate, smart and you will be entertained the whole time. You gain an appreciation for how forward thinking the founders of sea ranch were and what an incredible intellectual collaboration of architects created/designed this community. Margaret makes this all come alive - A++++ experience, you will not regret it or be bored. Walk is easy enough for anyone to do.

My boyfriend and I had a wonderful time with Margaret today during the redwoods to coast discovery tour. She knows so much about the area and answered all of our questions. In addition, she has a great personality and is super funny and charismatic...this helped make the tour go by very quickly and not a boring tour with a million facts thrown at you. She shared so much history about Sea Ridge and Redwoods. In addition, it is clear how much she loves the area and is passionate about what she does. We felt so at peace after the tour and a new appreciation of redwood trees and nature. Definitely recommend!

Margret was amazing, she's got a very lovely way about her, and we enjoyed our time with her immensely. We did a hike coast side where she educated us on the unusual flora and fauna of The Sea Ranch and all about the architecture and the ideals of the founding architects. Very fascinating indeed. She is a wealth of knowledge. The hike offered breathtaking views of the ocean and landscape. So fortunate I was added to this experience, it truly changed my perception of the rest of our time visiting.

We just finished the last of several of Margaret's wonderful walks and, as always, it was a wonderful experience. Margaret is a wealth of knowledge about Sea Ranch and the surrounding area and we always learn while enjoying the spectacular beauty of the Sonoma Coast. It has now become a routine for us to bring our visitors on one of Margaret's beautiful walks to share the beauty, history and culture of our happy place.

Unbeaten Path Tours gave my family of three adults a terrific introduction to Sea Ranch. We had never visited before: this gorgeous coastline, this remarkable planned community. Our little vacation rental in the Sea Ranch community itself was a little shy on details and background, but after our time spent with Unbeaten Path Tours we felt a lot more belonging and appreciation for the care taken in planning this unique community. We became better stewards ourselves as we went about our vacation! How wonderful to return from vacation inspired by ideas and place. Thank you Unbeaten Path Tours for the rich introduction to Sea Ranch.

As a Real Estate Broker and fan of Architecture this tour was a must for me. Margaret exceeded all my expectations and also advised us on other local sights and 'hot spots'. I learnt a lot and now have a better understanding and appreciation of the development and "why all these darn buildings look the same".

We took the Sea Ranch, Architecture, Landscape and Nature tour in December. Margaret was a fantastic resource from beginning to end. Even before we met up, Margaret gave us ideas on where to stop on our drive from nearby Timber Cove. She catered the tour to our varied levels of physical ability and the amount of information we knew about Sea Ranch. For example, one of us studied Architecture, so she was able to go deep on design and theory. Another loves nature, so Margaret answered questions about the flora and fauna we encountered (lucky for us, we even saw a whale!). Everyone had a great time, and we hope to come back with different friends to take advantage of this experience again!
A few extra notes: Margaret is super smart, very friendly, and made sure we had a great time. Sometimes when you plan a private tour you worry about it being awkward, and this was just the opposite. We can't wait to return!

Thank you so much for your words. They've come to me at the most perfect time. 2020 has opened the door to unprecedented times where Mother Earth has forcefully placed us in "time-out" and while the Covid-19 crisis plays its hand, stopping businesses like ours in their tracks, I can't help but feel that it is frighteningly thrilling to navigate these new beginnings!
Thank you for reminding me of my passion. In my time to reflect I have enjoyed going out to what has always inspired me, Nature, and to interpret its beauty and share it with you.
Best regards,
Margaret

Margaret Lindgren gave us an incredible walking tour of the Sea Ranch area and the surrounding forests. She is extremely professional and nice, and even though we are in the middle of a Pandemic, we felt totally at ease and enjoyed every minute. i would highly recommend her, and this tour. My only regret is that we did not have more time to enjoy the area.

Thank you. The pandemic has had a very difficult impact on the travel industry and we thank you for. your words and review. Your words matter and helps others feel more at ease about the choices available to them for safe and meaningful travel experiences during the pandemic. All of our work is outdoors and private - we have never mixed groups - so we consider our work a perfect and safe activity for guests to connect to place - but most importantly to create positive and lasting connections to one another. Safely.
All the best to you and I look forward to your return!

My 14-year old niece and I are driving from Santa Barbara to Portland OR over six days. With all that driving and passive sightseeing we knew we would want some active mornings. I found Margaret and Unbeaten Path Tours on Trip Advisor last week. She not only recommended the Sernetta Lands Tour as perfectly suited to teens and adults (it was), but also helped me identify a hotel (most everything was booked) and a great place for dinner in Gualala (Upper Crust Pizza, don't miss it.) I knew I loved her on the phone, but then she followed up with a professional email confirmation, and again a couple of days before to set our meeting place. The two-hour walking tour was outstanding: spectacular coastal setting, variety of birds and animals, brilliant guide (Margaret.) A highly-educated, broadly and deeply knowledgeable delight-of-a-human being, Margaret's energy, warmth and empathy was boundless. Her command of geology, history, architecture and ornithology, to name a few of her areas of expertise, was expansive. She has a perfectly-tuned ability to communicate relevant information in a way that both my niece and I found compelling all the way through. We had fun, learned a lot, got some exercise and stunning photos. If you are traveling through the Gualala area, en route north toward Mendocino / Fort Bragg or south to Marin, Margaret and Unbeaten Path Tours is worth a stop - or a detour. You won't be sorry.
I only wish I had booked her the day before for her Sea Ranch Architecture tour!

You will connect with the Mendocino/Sonoma coast in many ways when you tour with Margaret. She is a superb guide with in-depth knowledge of geology, ecology, history, flora and fauna. Margaret shares her years of research and training.
Everyone should take this tour, you won’t regret seeing and learning about this important and fragile eco system.
