Great out door activity while keeping social distance. After staying home for over two months, we can’t wait to go out when the government announced to slowly opening up the society. We took advantage of the opening and went to Temecula Berry Farm to get some out door activities while still staying safe. This farm is not too far a drive from LA. It took us only an hour to get to this place. The farm has safety in place to protect the visitors. All their workers there wore masks and provided hand washing station at the exit. The Farm also provided free parking with plenty of spaces. Since the farm is very big, we were able to keep our distance from other visitors. For picking the your own blue berries, the farm charged $5 for a small basket and $10 for a larger one. We were so excited for our first outing since the lock down. Seeing so many lie berries hanging from the short trees, we didn’t know where to begin as we picked whatever came into our views first. We ended up picking a lot of raw ones. At the end, we learned that we have to look under trees to pick the deep blue ripe berries. But who cares, we were just thrilled to get out of the house. We did brought back a full bucket of blue berries for our breakfast the next day.

I took my grandson with me for an afternoon and we picked about 2 pints or more of blueberries. I bought some Blueberry jam for him to take back home. This is an excellent place to go for a different experience. Just make sure to wear a wide brimmed hat, Temecula is murder in the summer! A bit pricier than the grocery store, but a great experience.

These are not the cheapest blueberries you can find, and you actually have to pick them yourself, but the payoff is huge. The berries are big, sweet and full of flavor. I can't imagine anyone being dissatisfied.

Pick your own Berries, or buy them ready. Add fresh farm eggs, home baked goods, smell the scented potpourri meltaways, or sample some blueberry tea in the family run store

This is a U-pick fully functioning blueberry farm with the best blueberries I have found around. You can spend the day picking blueberries and they have blueberry muffins, homemade jams, tea and lots more available. Farmer Mike does tours for kids classes and G'pa Blueberry is usually around working on the farm or feeding the critters. G'ma Blueberry tells stories to the kids and they even have movie night with G rated movies for the whole family.
