About
What began as a long-time dream for Brother-in-laws Lawrie Lipton and Mark Manfield, came to fruition with the opening of Lorimar Vineyards and Winery. In fact, the name Lorimar itself was formed by combining Lawrie and Mark's first names. Lorimar's Old Town location was opened in 2009 while the Wine Country property was under construction. Featuring breathtaking views of Mount Palomar and the Santa Ana Mountains, Lorimar features live music on the sunset patio every weekend all year long. Guests will also enjoy relaxing by the stone fireplace surrounded by a living art gallery, filled with works from many local artists. Balanced with warm sunny days and cool nights, the vines flourish and produce excellent fruit in our climate. The soil composition of decomposed granite and clay drains well and is ideal for retaining moisture reserves deep below the surface roots. "Our goal is to create a Fusion of Wine, Art, Music and Food"

Lorimar was our first stop for a group of 25 (on a party bus) for a Saturday wine tasting day. Everything about this place was wonderful!

We were seated right away at 11 AM at our reserved tables, and our waitress was so sweet and accommodating.

We ordered about 13 bottles of wine and sparkling wine for the group, and all were delicious.

We ordered several flat breads, pasta dishes, sandwiches, salads, and appetizers... everything was amazing! We were very impressed considering all dishes were made in their gourmet food truck.

We had a very fun time here and would definitely recommend this winery for large groups... especially since it is spacious and has food for all palettes.

Our first time in Temecula, we had a lot of fun at this winery. There was live music playing on a Thursday afternoon. We did not do a tasting but had a tasty lunch with drinks. I enjoyed the sauvignon blanc with the fromage plate. My friend, a pinot grigio lover, had the vineyard blend wine recommended by the waitress. The guys had Octoberfest beers and we split a goat cheese and fig flatbread and chicken salad sandwich. All were delicious. The fromage plate was an especially good value with beautifully veined cheeses, grapes, sundried tomatoes, artichokes and an entire sleeve of wheat crackers. We would return if in the area.

Saw that they had live music from 1-4 PM, so decided to stop in after lunch at a nearby winery. Outdoor huge patio area- some space covered, some open for the sunshine- and a good sized permanent stage. Wine was quite good and the music was a great touch. Great way to relax and enjoy a beautiful day.

I like "big reds", full flavored wines that linger after you've drunk them. Wiens Family Cellars advertise "big reds". I have to say that their Primitivo is very good. I asked the Sommelier at the local Total Wine which winery she liked and she said Lorimar. So that settled that, I had to try Lorimar Winery. I was very impressed. Loved their Barbera as it is a good appetizer wine or drink anytime wine. The GSM was big and the Zinfandel was amazing. I haven't tried the Malbec yet, but I have a bottle. The Cab was good, but I still will take the Zin, Barbera, and GSM over the Cab. I joined the wine club immediately. Unfortunately this was right at the start of quarantine for COVID-19. They have a patio for members with a gourmet food truck and wine flights, but we have been unable to go as my wife does not trust going out and being among people just yet (plus we are 74 and among the high risk group).

How could service possibly be worse than this?

It took, no exaggeration, 16 minutes for a server/pourer to acknowledge our table. Then, after we ordered a white wine flight and a fig/cheese flatbread, there passed another 12 minutes.

To top it off, the flatbread never arrived and when I told the server to cancel it, she replied, “That’s good because the person who does these is already gone for the day.”

If there was ever a need for a phrase with the words ‘service nightmare’, this would be well-deserving.

Now, onto the wines and the property...

The whites were quite good: Smooth, silky, full, and in some cases, slightly sweet.

Lorimar’s property and outdoor seating were both exceptional in design, decor, layout, and pandemic spacing.

If the service improves to ‘average’, this is a 5-star visit.

My husband and I came here for lunch and to taste a few wines. We ordered the red and white flight so that we could each try both. The pours were perfect; there was enough in each glass that we both could taste a substantial amount. And what we tasted was truly delicious!!!! We ordered the ceviche and a flat bread, both of which were very tasty. I took my glass of wine and wandered the property, stopping to enjoy the views and take photos. Beautiful landscape, vineyard, and outdoor tasting area. Would highly recommend!

We visited 3 wineries on our tour. This one is phenomenal. The restaurant where the wine tasting was had not only delicious wine but delicious food too. And ICE WATER. Nothing looks so good in triple digit heat. 10/10 would come again and bring friends.

Spacious wine tasting room. The dining is outdoor however, they do have LOTS of heaters. We went there in October and then again in December and had a fabulous time. The staff is great! There is live music and dancing on the weekends. Can't beat it!!

This is my first time wine tasting in Temecula and I was completely impressed! I had a wonderful experience here. My friend took me and my husband as our first stop.

I loved how it wasn’t bustling or overwhelming like other places. There was plenty of space for me to enjoy my wine and food. I ordered a red flight for myself while my husband had the white flight. They were delicious! We ended purchasing a few bottles.

We also had the cheese and meat plate which wasn’t too bad. We came early and ended up leaving around 1:30pm to get to the next location. It started to pick up then. Definitely recommend to visit!!

We showed up late in the day on a Tuesday after visiting Peltzer and Wilson. We ordered 2 glasses of Cab Franc and relaxed in their air conditioned room. We couldn’t figure out what the little glass room was for that was in our view next to us. It was packed with ‘stuff’ including a vacuum. Was a bit of an eyesore to sit near. Nevertheless, we enjoyed the quiet time inside on a 100 degree day.
