Brian our pilot, Denni, and the team at Magical Adventure Balloon Rides did a terrific job! We flew the semi-private sunrise experience over Temecula and the scenery was incredible. We felt safe with Brian throughout our 50 minute flight. We like the semi-private experience as there were less people in our basket making for a more intimate experience. The champagne toast on landing was a great ending (not to mention the wineries after).

I booked a hot air balloon ride for my husband’s birthday on 10/06/2021. There are many different companies in the Temecula area that offer balloon rides, but I selected Magical Adventures because they had a really nice list of complimentary items that came along with the balloon ride, such as a champagne toast after the ride, complimentary souvenir photos, a flight certificate, etc. Plus, they had an option to have them provide a cake at an additional charge of $25, which I opted for. I paid a total of $439.10 for the balloon ride for both of us, the cake, and also a 10% gratuity. The website and booking confirmation say that the ride is a “sunrise flight in a shared basket (meaning 4 or more people)”, which I was fine with. All of the pictures on the website show smaller-sized baskets with around 4 people or so in them. The website also says that you can upgrade to a semi-private basket for an additional charge. (see copy of booking confirmation and terms) We met at the designated meeting spot at 5:30am on the morning of the balloon ride and were told that we would be riding in a basket of 20 – 24 people, but that we could upgrade to a semi-private basket that held 8 people for an additional charge of $75 per person. Since I had already paid so much for the initial tickets, I couldn’t really afford to get the upgrade and declined. At least 20-30 other passengers arrived and checked in and finally 2 vans showed up to pick everyone up. They made everyone cram into the 2 vans to where every single seat was full and no social distancing was taking place. The van was filthy inside with old splashes of liquid and dirt all over the place, so it was obvious that absolutely no cleaning and sanitizing was being done between uses. It was disgusting. No one was wearing masks, not even the employees. By the time we got to the launch site, sunrise had come and gone so there was that. There were a few people who had opted to upgrade to the semi-private flights in the smaller baskets, but I couldn’t believe that they planned on cramming the rest of us (about 20 people) into a basket that could fit maybe 8 people comfortably. As they were inflating the balloons, you could clearly see hundreds of patches that were on the top and sides of the balloons, where they had previously patched holes, which also made me nervous. When they told everyone to get in the basket, everyone was so crammed in they couldn’t even move their arms. (see pictures) My grandma just died from Covid this month so I am fully aware of how deadly it can be and I absolutely could not get in a basket that was so crowded full of strangers like that. I asked the people who worked there if I could get a refund because the website was very misleading about the riding conditions and how many people would be crowded together in a basket. They told me that I would just need to talk to the owner about getting a refund. One of the employees called the owner, Denni, to let him know what was going on and asked if we could at least get the cake that we paid for. He told the employee that we didn’t get the cake because we didn’t go for the balloon ride. I thought Denni’s response was really rude but I figured that it was because he was going to refund me the $430 so it made sense that we wouldn’t get the cake. I got Denni’s number from the employee and texted him a little later when we got back to our hotel to ask him about refunding my money. He rudely responded that I wasn’t getting a refund for deciding not to fly at the last minute. He also proceeded to say that he heard that I was emotionally unable to fly because my mother just died. I told him that it was my grandmother and that she died from Covid this month, which is why I wasn’t able to be crammed in with 20 people I didn’t know, with no social distancing precautions being taken. But his comment about my mother dying, even though he obviously misunderstood, was so rude and heartless I was really thrown back on that one. He told me I knew I booked a shared basket so basically it was too bad; I wasn’t getting my money back. I went back and forth with him a couple of times and told him that I was asking him nicely to refund the money because his website and contract were misleading and that he was not complying with social distancing guidelines, or that I would have to go the other route, which would be to dispute the charges with my bank. He told me to go ahead and dispute the charges and said, “When you lose your dispute, you will not be able to re-book with us”. The level of disrespect and rudeness from this man was unbelievable. Denni is absolutely refusing to refund me the money I paid ($439.10) and I want everyone to know how rude, inconsiderate, greedy and scandalous this man is. Not to mention his complete disregard for the safety and well-being of his guests during a pandemic that has killed so many people. His own employees made comments to us about how awful he is. I have filed a complaint with the department of consumer affairs and will be filing a complaint with the Health Department in Riverside County and whoever else I need to.

Magical Adventures is the best option for hot air balloon rides! The staff is nice, professional, and friendly. The ride was about an hour long with beautiful 360 views! We had refreshments afterward and made a toast with the pilot. They also give you many complimentary photos! The price was affordable and I would gladly book with them again! It was an absolutely incredible experience and I high recommend you do it with Magical Adventures!

I can't recommend this enough! I did the sunrise balloon ride for my 30th birthday and it was a complete joy. There isn't much to know as a passenger - you show up at 5:30am to check in, quick safety meeting, then watch as the balloons inflate in front of you in the parking lot, and hop into the balloon basket when they tell you too. Then you're just...floating! I was in a balloon with 11 other people. The owner of the company, Denni, was our pilot - very friendly, funny, and an experienced pilot. I felt safe and taken care of. The balloon was a lot slower than I imagined because there wasn't much wind that day. It was soft, serene, gentle, peaceful. I didn't even feel it when we left the ground. We floated in quietness over the Temecula valley while Denni pointed out various landmarks and fun facts. After landing, we had an OJ and/or champagne toast and then were quickly transported in a van back to our starting place. The whole thing was 3.5 hours for our balloon. The balloons can't all take off at the same time so there is some variation in duration depending on which balloon you're assigned to. I was in awe the entire experience, big smiles all around. I didn't know this was on my bucket list, but wow it was a life experience everyone should consider. Denni went above and beyond to make it enjoyable and smooth. I will never forget this!

What a great experience with spectacular views. It was a crystal clear day. We were in a basket with eight guest plus the pilot who's name was Denny. He was very nice, informative, and willing to answer all questions. The ride was smooth and comfortably warm despite the 42 degree temperature. I liked that they kept you well informed on all the preparation and finalizing of the trip. Pictures were taken buy a wonderful lady whose name I don't remember (sorry) but she was fun to talk to, very professional, and had pictures on line the same day for us which we could all make as many copies as we would like.
