It was a short visit and we only had an opportunity to visit one winery. We were visiting family in the area and they picked this one.
We stopped in on a Sunday mid-afternoon, there was a decent crowd but not overcrowded. You can choose to sit at the bar or be waited on at one of the many tables. We sat at the tables and our sever was attentive and engaging.
Wine tasting is $25 for 6 pours and the pours are very generous. I am glad you could split a tasting card between two, since I was the driver, 3 pours were plenty. They offered a selection of red, whites, rose’ and sparkling wines to taste. I purchased one bottle and since I had to pack in my luggage they packed it securely for me.
It was nice just to sit back and relax in front of the fireplace with some good conversation.

I was attracted to this winery because it seems a little more intimate, and also because I saw a few reviews on the quality of the reds. We did a tasting on a cool, rainy Monday (after the weekend bumrush) and this place is great for that - with its dark-hued wood trim, it reminds you of an estate sitting room with a nice fireplace. Perfect for cool weather tasting.
Our guide Christine was very nice and personable, and she handled the tasting exceptionally well based on our preferences. I'm not a wine connoisseur by any stretch, but I know my tastes in good reds. I rarely buy wine after a tasting, but in this case I was so impressed with a few of them that my wife and I bought 3 bottles and are considering their wine club (which has a great outlay). Their standard tasting at $20 beat most wineries in the area to boot.
This was a great experience, granted on a slower Monday when we might not have stressed the guides' time, but everything about this, and especially the reds we tasted, were to me exceptional. If not, it's still more than worth your time to check out this smaller but self-assured and feistily competitive winery in Temecula.

Came the first time, joined the membership. Came back and enjoyed the Cellar Tasting. Awesome. Staff is engaging, knowledgeable, and fun to be around. Hang out inside or at an expansive patio area. Great place to spend a day!
Returned the weekend after new years, brought friends for the select cellar tasting and to pick up our January members bottles. We were bringing 6 others with us for a total of 8 and were going to be a week early for the pickup. Called and talked with Amanda, she helped us get seating for the group in the cellar and arranged to have our bottles brought in from the warehouse for us. She was incredibly helpful! For the tasting, we had Laurie: Level 2 Som, long time Temecula resident, and an exemplary host. She did a fantastic job of engaging with our group, very interactive, shared her knowledge of the wine, vineyards, winemaking, history and local families. Most tastings, you get the basics of the flavor, maybe a little about the vineyard. Laurie, the cellar tasting room, and the fantastic wines sets this experience at the top levels.

We have loved Wiens for years as members and have been to several events that rated 4-5 stars. But last nights Grape Stomp was way off their usual high mark. First off $120 per person should have had way better food. The chicken was cooked into hockey pucks and somehow broccoli was way over cooked while the included carrots were almost raw. The steak was very tough and boring. The 80’s band was pretty good, if only the vocalists could sing it would have been really good. We paid $60 for our daughter to basically sit with us as she couldn’t eat any of the food. The only thing palatable for a kid was a lasagna that was way over cooked and dry. A swing and a miss for Wiens this time.

We visited on a Saturday for the first tasting of the day, 10:30. Scott was our server. He was very personable and friendly. He treated us like friends, told us the history of Wiens, explained the wines, the process behind each, and the joy of living and being a part of that beautiful wine region. Every wine we tasted was very good, and though we had planned to spend just 30-40 minutes before moving on, we stayed for almost 2 hours and enjoyed every minute.

I went for a weekday tasting utilizing a Sip Passport and had a fantastic experience.
I went mid afternoon and it was not very busy so I virtually had a server to myself.
Ryan did a great job with seeing that I was able to taste a couple 90 point whites, a newly released Brut Rose, and a good majority of their delicious reds. As he served we shared with each other our European travel experiences which made for an even more enjoyable tasting experience. As a result of Ryan's both genuine and generous tasting pours I ended up buying a full case of wine to be shipped for free to Wisconsin. Great start to my Christmas gift shopping!!

I put my account on hold last week for the first time... ever, also over the last 3 years of me being loyal. I was told by Amanda (a employee) a good solution was to put my account on hold and then start back up paying for any pickups missed. Donna informed me that I will never be allowed as wine club member again. I also Asked for 2 empty glasses to share with a friend, she also told me this is also not allowed by the owners. So I am black listed by Weins for simply following a suggestion from one of there employees. Beware, anyone that has put there account on hold will be black listed by the owners and will never be allowed to return as a wine club member. This makes no since to me. What a weird business model?? I am glad they are not the only winery in town!!

We were really looking forward to our tasting here. We signed up for the pairing of meat and cheese to go with the wine tasting. We were somewhat disappointed as the servings of cheese were somewhat limited and the meat was not much at all. While the wines were good, we're not sure if our server was rude or just out of it. We were never offered the opportunity to purchase any wine. Had we been given that, we would have purchased some, but since we were not, we left without purchasing any wine. We went on down the road to the next winery and had a much better experience. Not worth it....

We stopped here on a Thursday afternoon. It wasn't too crowded when we got there but got crowded by the time we left. We got the $30 tasting of 6 pours. Service was not good. Our server seemed rushed and then didn't come back and would forget what we told him to bring when he finally did come back. We asked for more water a few times and never got it. The people beside us came after us and left before us. We had been there for way too long. We got disgusted and left even before our last pour. The wine that we did have was good though. The live music was great!

Live music was a bonus. Red wines delicious but high priced. Worst part was the terrible differential service to someone they seemed to kiss up to. No matter. Won’t be back. Not buying their wine.

Did they have a nice restaurant?
Written August 30, 2017
No, Weins does not have an onsite restaurant. Two nearby wineries, Ponte and South Coast both have restaurants onsite.

Were there shops there for buying gifts or what have you besides alcohol?
Written August 30, 2017
Yes they have a few things in their tasting room you might find interesting. their main focus is on wine, and they do a fine job.
