Loved the bubblies, great way to finish the day with lighter, refreshing wines. Did a group tour and this was one of the stops. Friendly staff made you feel comfortable, whether you are a connoisseur or novice. The wines were very good. A must stop if visiting Temecula.

I'm not quite sure why I'm not giving this location a one-star review. It's a mess. The "villa" we stayed in is tired, drab, and in desperate need of a makeover. The furniture has a musty smell. The bedroom is even worse smelling. There might be fresh sheets on the bed, but that's the ONLY fresh thing in that bedroom. The makeup mirror in the bathroom is BROKEN. With little effort, I could have had an amputated toe. Does anyone ever check to see what might need replacement? One of the faucets didn't turn on - at all! The really amazing sight was the cheesecloth-thin towel with strings shredding off of them. These are towels that become rags at my house. I don't expect to find them at an upscale "resort."

Fantastic hotel and spa! From the moment we checked in, Julie was so nice and knowledgeable. Every moment was memorable. Waking up to the hot air balloons was the best! Great restaurant and wine tasting tour too. Highly recommended.

Loved Felicia who helped us so much with our wine tasting but NOT happy with management and their front desk. I was (according to them) discounted too much on our wine tasting and this they cost us almost $20 more. Really it was YOUR mistake not ours and you cost me money as a result. We’ve been here several times even though we don’t live here but this might be our last time. Sad because Felicia was amazing.

South Coast Winery was the biggest disappointment in our wine tasting weekend. Supposedly any five tastes for $10 with five poker chips that are taken after each taste. But the server does not let you get near the expensive and award winning wines until you taste three that are quite terrible. The short pour from the automatic spout did not fool anyone in our group either. Sadly, nothing but a hustle in beautiful surroundings! But, the one bright spot was a beautiful and inexpensive gift shot that wowed our crowd. Our tip: Hit the gift shop, pass on the wine - or if you do taste, hang onto the five chips and dictate the wines you want to try.

I am a member of this winery and go every 3 months to pick up my wine. I used to love getting the tastes of wine but now its just a mess. Members have there own place you can go now and it just know fun. I used to eat there for lunch and now its sucks. Very expensive but the menu has changed and its awful. Save some time eat and drink somewhere else.

A great winery, with great customer service (thank you Jennifer) great tasting wine, and more.

I have not stayed in the hotel or the villas yet, but hope to soon.

South Coast is a must when in Temecula.

This winery has a good view and I went to the spa, and I have to say they have a good spa. I would recommend the spa, but I would not recommend the winery. The wines were ok, but nothing special. They seem to think the more wines the better, the problem is, when you have a winery that makes OK wines, but they think the more wines they make the better. 68 wines is overkill.

South Coast is a winery combined with a restaurant, spa and hotel. It is one of the more upscale wineries in the area. It is beautifully landscaped with incredible stone work and has one of the largest tasting rooms we have been in. The wine list covers a wide spectrum of wines including a number of sparkling wines. The staff was very helpful and knew their wines. They made some recommendations for food and wine pairings. We have been to South Coast several times and have noticed that most of the groups there are females. We have only been to the winery for the wine tastings and not for the restaurant, spa or hotel.

South Coast was the first winery I ever visited over 10 years ago when I was on vacation in San Diego. Now that I reside in the area, my wife and I stopped back in for the first time in 10 years as we were passing through the Temecula area. Let's just say the nostalgia from that first visit was permanently tarnished by my last visit. I have been to a lot of wineries after living in Northern California for several years and the service we received here was the worst. As in so bad it would be like watching Secretariat at The Belmont. The dead last horse is South Coast. Who knows, maybe that's why they put horses on some of their labels. I have never seen a more disinterested group of people working in a winery-or anywhere for that matter. They looked miserable. Here's some wine. Finish it, wait five minutes after you're done, then maybe we'll give you some more. The guy polishing the glasses had his mask pulled down below his nose as he was breathing all over the wine glasses. Just take the mask off completely like many of the other employees if you can't wear it properly. My wife and I decided to fast track things because the atmosphere was awful and there were plenty more wineries to visit in the area. We asked the guy who was serving us for our check. He disappeared. So we asked a second guy. He proceeded to sit down in front of their computer and we thought he was getting us our bill. Nope. Got up after being summoned to pour some wine. Sat back down. No check. Finally, the third time was the charm. Someone who had never served us finally got our bill for us 15 minutes after we first asked. Got the check and of course they add an 18% gratuity. I called out that I never saw this on our tasting menu. She took a look at it and said "Oh, that's weird. It's not on this one. Here, it's on this one." To be honest, I normally would totally support the 18% and would add in tip if the folks who served us actually contributed to the enjoyment of our experience. These people could not have cared less about making anyone's experience enjoyable. I let it go because honestly I had wasted enough time here and wasn't going to haggle over a few dollars. This place has lost its way. It's now a sterile corporate shell of its former ways. Hard pass on ever visiting again. I recommend visiting one of the much smaller wineries in the area that actually still have pride in their wines and actually enjoy talking about them.
