We were 3 generations in our family, ages 7, 38 and 74. We all went on all the courses. It was totally safe. It was still very thrilling. It was so much fun and given that you can be on the courses for 2.5 hours it was a fantastic bargain. They limit the number of people in a way that you are never waiting in lines. The employees are very professional and do a good job of explaining what to expect, how to deal with any issues that might come up and how to have the most fun. We really loved this experience and we recommend it to anyone visiting Tahoe. It should be at the top of your list of things to do.

Our party consisted of 2 adults and 2 teenage children (18 and 16). When I booked the trip, I thought we were just going to be doing 1 "intermediate experience." When we arrived, my husband was watching the area seen easily from the check-in spot. He asked me, "Is this for kids?" I had no idea, but we had our reservation so we kept it. It didn't take long for us to realize, this experience is for all ages and is quite fun. Some of the more challenging lines were exhilarating and frightening all at the same time. Even though you know you won't "fall," as an adult you still work hard at not "falling." We were also excited to realize we would have the opportunity to try all of the lines, even the difficult ones. This was great fun and I would definitely do it again.

This type of adventure really suits my family. We love to bond through challenging yet fun-filled activities. We finished 6 courses (2 black, 4 blue) in a span of 2.5 hrs. If I can suggest one thing, it would be great if the session time is longer than 2.5 hrs. to at least be able to finish all the blue and black courses. Considering that only 2 people can stay in a platform the wait becomes longer and it’s eating up the session time. Other than that, my family had the best time and will surely come back for more tree top adventure!

Lice! Bring your own helmet. One course in, and I found lice in my helmet. There are no refunds even though I used only 30 mins of my 2 and a half hours. I just didn’t feel like risking head lice.

Hi, I'm sorry you think this as it's doubtful this was the case. We've heard this before so I've taken the time to do extensive research about lice and can recommend a 37 page manual created by the Michigan Dept of Community Health and Michigan Dept of Education. You can find it online. In it is a one-page document listing common myths and facts. I've included one below related to helmets. We wash/sanitize our helmets after every use and dry them in the sun. I wish you would have continued, I'm quite sure we could have found an acceptable helmet for you.
MYTH: Lice are commonly spread through hats, helmets, or headphones.
FACT: Although the spreading of lice through hats, helmets, or headphones is possible, it is rare. It is more common for transmission to occur from pillows, hairbrushes, or bedding. Transmission primarily occurs through head-to-head contact.

First time at an adventure park/zip line. Based on the reviews we thought we’d try it out while on vacation in Truckee. Great staff and easy process to get outfitted and given instructions during the first 15 mins. If you have your own bicycle helmet I would bring that instead of using theirs. You’ll get 2.5 hours on the course which was plenty of time to get acclimated and get through a number of stations. We were both apprehensive at first so having two beginner courses really helped get our bearings before venturing to the intermediate courses. Some stations are higher than others and some have harder obstacles to get through. If you like zip lining more than obstacles I would recommend the Lakeview course. It was pretty hot the day we went, so I would recommend booking an early time if you are going in the summer. Glad we booked this adventure and overcame our fears. Looking forward to trying out the other two parks in the area someday. Now that I know I enjoy zip lining I plan to do it more in the future in other locations.

We had a great time exploring different courses at Treetop Adventure Tahoe to spite the fact that the guides were vague and sarcastic during the introduction portion of the experience. Their directions were unclear and they were not patient nor accommodating when we were trying to get sunscreen on us before we embarked on our adventure. They first told us we could not bring our water and sunscreen which is why we were trying to hurry and get it in, then told us we could bring our things. They offered no safe and secure locations to keep our keys and things during the activities. When introducing the park rules the explanations were vague and delivered in a total underwhelming tone. It seemed as though our guide was not at all excited about working her shift and remarked that it was our job to act in a stupid manner as to entertain her. It was a completely offensive tone. I felt like walking out as she did not make it sound fun at all. From her introduction it sounded like it would be a humiliating experience. There was no explanation on how the adventure worked. Was there a certain area for zip lining and another area for my obstacle courses? We could not tell from the introduction. Furthermore at the end of her talk there was no opportunity to ask clarifying questions. She simply walked off and did not check in to make sure everyone felt safe proceeding. Luckily I’m an experienced climber but I can only imagine how more novice guests might have felt. I did hear many children crying in terror stuck up on advanced areas because they probably were unclear on expectations based upon her directions. I’m glad we were able to figure things out on our own as the staff were not helpful.

Hi, Thanks for the review, although painful for me to read. You can see from our reviews that this isn't the norm, we take pride in our employees, their work performance, and customer interactions. And we don't always hit home runs, as you know. Sorry you had to experience this less than stellar performance. I knew exactly who you were referring to and was able to confirm based on your reservation time and our staff schedule. We've given this person many chances, perhaps too many, and will be making changes.
I will push back or offer an explanation for a few points in your review.
1. Referring to employees, guides, staff, etc in the plural when your feedback seems to be about one person is misleading.
2. Not sure how you heard you couldn't bring water as we urge everybody to bring water and describe where the drinking fountains are located so you can refill your bottles. We emphasize this as the experience can be tiring and we see many dehydrated customers.
3. You are correct re: us providing lockers, etc. We do not have room to install 100+ lockers so tell people to put valuables in your car or keys in your pocket. You can stash backpacks with water, snacks, etc. on the picnic tables under the courses.
4. There were 17 other paying customers in your session, if you were holding them up while applying sunscreen, that's unfair and there wouldn't be much patience for that. I'm not sure if this was the case or not.
5. Speculating that kids are crying because of the sub-par Ground School is an unfair assumption.
Thank you for acknowledging you had a great time, despite what sounds like a crappy "ground school". That's an important part of the experience and it should have been better. Apologies again, I hope you'll give us another chance.

We went with 2 children, ages 7 and eleven, a sixteen year old, and two adults. EVERYONE had a blast, what a great way to spend a day outdoors. There is a range of difficulty on the different courses, so everyone was challenged, but felt safe and happy. The instruction at the beginning was clear and helpful, but after the intro, you are set free in to the woods to enjoy whichever course you would like to go on. Each pass allows for about 2.5hrs on the course. The time flew by, by was adequate to get on almost every course, if you chose, and to repeat the ones you liked the most. I also liked this place specifically because most of thr courses were accessible for our 7 year old, who is on the shorter side, and is usually prevented from enjoying activities with height restrictions. All in all, i HIGHLY recommend.

Tahoe Treetop Adventure parks are a must-do when you are in Lake Tahoe! We have visited to all of their locations, close to 6 times total, over the last 5 years. Their staff is extremely helpful, knowledgeable, fun and definitely focused on safety. This is a great activity for the whole family any month of the year. We just went on 1/16/22 and it was a blast in the snow. The price may seem expensive, but you get 2.5-3 hours on the course so it's worth it!

This place is amazing! The courses challenge you to push your boundaries. Courses are well marked for difficulty and fun for all ages. The BEST part is that this place only allows a reasonable number of customers at a time. This keeps lines short, and ensures lots of free space and access to water/tables for all. I am so glad they do not overbook the time slots and create a chaotic zoo experience just to make an extra buck.

I've been to Tahoe Vista locations several times but this was my first time at Tahoe City location. Both are excellent and always a great time! You get 2.5 hours to do whichever courses you want and they have obstacles and ziplines. There are different ratings for the courses, both for difficulty and how high they are. My six year old daughter joined us for the first time this year and I was impressed by how much she did. She is tall for her age and I did see some smaller kids struggling with the obstacles (they are built more for bigger kids and adults) so I would recommend 7 or older. Great staff, great setting in redwood trees, and I highly recommend it!

For a group of 12 adults, which park between Tahoe City and Tahoe Vista gives the best experience? We’ll be close to both.

I’ve only been to Tahoe Vista and it was amazing! Make sure you book your tickets online in advance and bring plenty of water. I think either place you choose you and your friends will have a blast!

Tahoe Vista was more challenging. Tahoe City has a nice "little kid friendly" section.

We are a family of 4, with 2 girls aged 12-14. Which park would you recommend between Tahoe Vista or Tahoe Treetop?

Both are great:
For smaller kids or apprehensive kids the Granlibakken/Tahoe City Treetop location is more compact and makes it easier for “ground” parents to be close, right underneath most all of the Flying Squirrel lines, with a few log benches to wait on.
For the newer Tahoe Vista-Regional Park location the ziplines are a bit more spread out which the older kids love, and since it is a park there are hiking trails, picnic tables under the ziplines and bathroom in the parking lot.
We end up going wherever there is availability for the day we’re free.
Fun times!
What is your cancellation policy?

they actually let you cancel with less notice if you rebook. our first year my grandson was sick so we canceled. no problem this was a day before our visit. turned out we were able to call and get a reservation later in the week. the second year it was about 5 hours before our resveration and I moved it to another day. they are very generious with rebooking
Do I have to book this or can I show up?

Hi there,
I'd like to register my 8 year old and myself.(40)
Which course do you recommend? Are parents " allowed" to do the same course as their children?
Thank you for your help.

Yes, parents are allowed to do the same course and encouraged to do so. I did the same course with my 7yo and am also 40. Good thing too, as he gets a little big for britches, requiring me to go out and help him along on the harder course. I did the Squaw Valley location and they let you play around on all the differing levels of difficulty. They also have a tall, three sided climbing course with all sorts of challenging obstacles.

Hello, are you operating in mId february 17? What hours do you keep? How long a drive from South Lake Tahoe?

Hi Victor,
We do operate during the winter on weekends and during holiday periods, weather depending. We will not be open Feb. 17 because it is a Friday. We plan to be open that weekend, Feb. 18 and 19. We have been clearing snow from tree platforms and bridges all winter and the experience can be very fun in the winter as you can see from some of the reviews.
The driving from South Shore is a tricky question. If the weather is clear and sunny and highway 89 around Emerald Bay is open then it would take 45 minutes minimum. However, if it is snowing or has just recently snowed then highway 89 around Emerald Bay will likely be closed (avalanche danger) and you would need to drive the other way through Incline Village. This would probably be closer to a 2 hour drive.
Probably best to wait until a couple days before you'd like to come and call us for the latest info about weather and planned operations. We are not nearly as busy during the winter so reservations far ahead of time aren't needed like in the summer. Thanks
