Beautiful ski area. Designed for the more advanced skier - lots of blues and black runs. Only 2-3 green runs. This is not a large resort - much smaller than neighboring Squaw Valley but really nice. We enjoyed our day here a lot. Great views of Lake Tahoe from the top of the Lakeview lift.

We just spent a week at Squaw/Alpine. Did not know much about Alpine Meadows but were quickly won over as fans. Easy lift system, beautiful vistas and excellent t terrain. Resort hosts really knowledgeable and exceptionally friendly.

My husband and I snowboarded one day at Squaw Valley, then the next day went to Alpine Meadows. We loved both mountains, but would say Alpine was our favorite! The runs were groomed and the snow was great. Beautiful views. Lots of wide open runs, but still some through the trees for variety. We went on a Thursday so it wasn't crowded at all. The mountain was easy to navigate and we enjoyed it thoroughly. Only blue and black runs though, so probably not the greatest for beginners.

Hi Sarah. Thanks so much for taking the time to write this great review. Alpine Meadows really is a hidden gem and the groomers do an excellent job. You are right about there not being as many beginner runs. While there are the Meadow and Subway lifts, Squaw Valley has far more beginner terrain to choose from. We hope that you will visit us again soon!

If you are coming to the Tahoe area to ski you probably want to check out more than one ski area. They all have different vibes. Alpine Meadow has a funky, retro family vibe. It is not as polished as Northstar, not as extensive as Heavenly, or quite as radical as Squaw although it has its share of steeps and hike to terrain. There is plenty to ski there, a d can’t selection of intermediate terrain and groomers, and great views of the lake from the backside. Base facilities are basic but adequate. The lift system is modern and on MLK weekend we did not have to deal with any lines longer than 5 minutes.mm. There is no village and food and shopping options are minimal, but skiing is great. I say at least one day there if you have a week in the area.

Smaller than it's big sister next door, Squaw Valley, it's a great mountain with good snow and tough terrain if you want it or cruiser runs if you don't. Really is diverse.
