Eagle Falls Trail was doable with a 4 year old. The trail does have gravel path and some stone steps but is relatively easy. The falls weren’t very strong when we visited in September but we enjoyed the view and went down via the Falls...More

We hiked back to Velma lake, there were some sections where it was a bit more strenuous than others, but nothing too tough. Bring some water, we appreciated having it along the way. Lake is beautiful and secluded. Some folks were swimming, but we didn't...More

Nice walk along the river then several sets of steps up to the Falls. Lovely spot. The crowds made it only average. Well marked trail.

Easy hike to the falls where there is a swimming hole and bridge over the stream. The hike to Eagle Lake is worth the extra effort - beautiful views of a Emerald Bay along the way. Lots of stone steps, then an incline down to...More

It is a strenuous hike but worth it! As we were hiking to the lake we looked down at the creek and saw a good size fish in it.

Great short hike. Might have been misleading after the bridge piece on exactly how much of the hike was left on the same/different trail. Wear hiking shoes saw too many people in flip flops slipping on rocks. Swimming opportunity.

We were encouraged by someone at the visitor’s Center in Tahoe City to consider this “ easy hike”on the Eagle Trail. I pointed to my raggedy sandals and asked, do you think I can do this hike with these shoes? She replied, “ sure”. Well,...More

Easy hike for the family with kids. You can continue on to Eagle Lake, which is more challenging and a much longer hike. Make sure you bring plenty of water if your going in the summer heat. Beautiful falls, nice scenic views. Parking is limited...More

Hiked with the family. Fairly easy hike for all. I highly recommend continuing past the falls to the lake. Make sure your wearing a swim suit so you can enjoy the lake!

This was a great hike! Parking is limited so get there early if you can (which also helps with the crowds)- we got there at 8a. A quick hike up to a bridge over the falls and a swimming area, then a moderate hike up...More

No permit required. If you are just going down to Vikingsholm and then to the Eagle Falls viewpoint you don't need to do any paperwork. If you are going up the mountain from the parking lot then you are supposed to fill... More

Hi, I believe the Eagle Falls parking lot had envelopes to pay for the parking on your own with no attendant. I'm not sure of the cost which means it wasn't very much. Maybe $5. If you can find a spot in the small lot it... More

We were there last November. Trail and parking lot were both accessible, but bathrooms were locked for the season. I think the trail beyond the falls, to Eagle Lake, was closed, but Eagle Falls was open.
