Have pictures of my sisters at this point back in 1971, view is still fantastic, crowded, but worth the stop.

It's just breath-taking standing at the viewing point taking in all natures wonders and beauty. It is well kept and landscaped. Definitely a to do! Parking could be difficult during the busy hours of the day as the lot is small but one can park on the road, if there's space.

Each season the west of the Lake Tahoe will appear to you differently. You have to try it once at least ! And be careful : don't fear the heights !

Look over the edge of the cliff into Emerald Bay and the island truly looks like a jewel in the beautiful waters. What a picture. Words cannot do this justice, you have to go and see it. Parking can bit a bit crazy in the peak season and and peak times so try and go early or late in the... More

This is a great viewpoint high above the west side of Lake Tahoe. The views are magnificent and there are several informative signs to help you interpret what you are seeing. There are also telescopes for looking at the sights around the lake and lakeshore. The parking lot can be crowded, but it is free, so be patient. A snack... More

Just wished we had more time on our journey up I 89 to visit the lake itself. The view of Emerald bay and wider lake from the road were utterly stunning. Just take care on the vertiginous I89 up from South Lake Tahoe and all the roadworks currently taking place (Summer 2016).

Get here early (8 AM) and parking is plentiful and the sun and still lake water perfect for photos. Unfortunately, people tend to park their cars here all day (day hikers)---so few parking spots available on busy days.

Visited Inspiration Point in early August. The small parking lot fills up quickly since the vista is so popular. If you can find a parking spot, the view of Emerald Bay is really great. Unfortunately the pine trees can block the view of parts of the lake. There are some signs with inretesting information. Inspiration Point is worth the visit... More

Definitely worth a stop for stunning views as you are headed north or south along the lake. Make sure you bring a camera!
