Great little place and you can try all the cheeses before you buy, but it is expensive. We bought 3 cheeses (all American ones) some quince jelly and some bread and it costs $60! The ladies who work there are very friendly however we had a guy serve us and he just about spoke and made us feel as if... More

Saved the best for last. Many domestic and international cheeses. Sample are aplenty and makes for a tough decision. We settled on two. A cheddar and brine. Delicious!

Whenever we are in the area we stop by and taste some cheese and make some great purchases. They are well versed in what they offer and can make terrific suggestions. There's wine tasting and we have found a couple of wines that we enjoy from Miller Winery.

If you like Cheese and you are in the area, a great place to walk in and get your fix of cheese for your outing that day or to take home. They are very helpful and have many samples to choose from.

Although the shop did not have cacciocavallo that day, the owner has ordered it ever since. I like the wide variety of cheeses available and the knowledgable people who work there.

Stopped by for some cheese to enjoy as an afternoon snack. Very friendly and knowledgable staff. Owner helped us decide on the right cheese by asking what we were going to enjoy it with, what we liked and didn't like as far as source (goat, cow), and gave us tastes of each until we decided on a Honey Bee goat... None of the cheese is local, disappointment. We tasted several and chose two to take home with us. The staff is knowledgeable and helpful. Prices were reasonable. Interesting that this cheese shop is #1 for things to do. It's a small town, mostly antique shops, a one afternoon stop.

Hi Debra, Thank you for visiting out shop. We are happy to have had you enjoy our cheeses. I just want to explain that there are no local dairies in this area of California. There is not one commercial dairy in Amador or Calavaras Counties or in the general Sierra Nevada area. We wish there were. On average we carry... More
