Unique Blends and Great Cabernet

We had no set plan when we visited Sutter Creek. After our first tasting we asked where we should go next, and were told 'Go to Uphill. It was actually just across the street. The tasting room is small and luckily we traveled during non-busy hours so we didn't need a reservation. The wines were great! I became a fan of Tannat and Uphill has two unique blends: a Z&T, Zinfandel and Tannat; and T&T, Tannat and Tempranillo. The Z&T is a 50/50 blend and the T&T is 80% Tannat. Both were great and I joined the wine club so I could continue to get these great wines. They also have a great Cabernet and my friends really liked the dessert wine, Angelica. The vineyard is located in Fiddletown in the Sierra foothills. This place is a hidden gem, but my guess is it will get busier so be sure to make a reservation.
