First, let's clarify - this review is for the Sunnyvale Golf Course and not Sunken Gardens (whose picture this site shows).

Tee boxes, greens and fairways are in pretty good shape. Rough has some weeds growing, but it's not too bad. Course isn't particularly interesting - very flat, few hazards, sand traps weren't great. Very walkable; I'd recommend not taking a cart.

Concession stand looks like it hasn't been open in years. There's nearly no drinking water on the course, and there's no refreshment cart.

Slow play was not an issue - Saturday at 10:30am and we played 18 in 4:40.

All in all, it's adequate, and I'd prefer to play here than many of the other public courses in the area.

Played here for the first time in years. Hadn't changed much except that there was no food or beverage served in the main building or out on the course. Found out that the concession had been closed for almost a year. Apparently the city thinks that it is such a lucrative enterprise that the want to charge high rent and a percentage of the gross.

As for the course, probably in the same shape as always, some fairways OK, some others not. And the sand traps had very little sand. Can't understand why the course isn't greener since they seem to use recycled water. Los Lagos is in far better shape.

We have enjoyed playing this course; its a municipal course to practice your game at. It has a driving range and putting green. .

I have also played here in a group tournament.

Its a fun course to play for a municipal course. I have rated it average as its a fun course to play and practice at; but its not one of those "wow" golf courses.

Staff is pleasant.

Overall it was a good round of golf. Pro Shop nice. Friendly staff. The grass is ok for a public course. However, the snack shop is close after 3pm. There was a group in front of us, very very slow, we had to pass them and skip the hole. They were holding everyone up. No golf course marshall at site. Haven't get a chance to visit the golf course restaurant. It is newly opened. It took us 5 hours to finish 17 holes (skip 1 hole). We will go back again because it is cheap. If we are lucky, we won't get delay by slow golfer. We will give them a second chance.
