Don't normally review retail but had a great experience with an employee of the See's Candy at Hillsdale Mall in San Mateo today. Older, Caucasion lady whose 2 year anniversary with See's was today. She didn't even flinch when my mum presented her with an almost 2 year old gift certificate. She was extremely patient with my mother and and handed out samples, and really took care of us. I don't normally visit See's but I might as the service was great especially from this employee. Kudos to her and the work ethic of her generation; kids these days can learn a thing or two. From start to finish we felt attended too with personalized service. We got a box of dark chocolates and will enjoy! Thanks See's!

It's always a treat to attend this store. Samples are offered before one makes a purchase. I was a little disappointed, though, when i was informed that there were no Little Pops Cafe Lattes available, so I had to settle for Little Pops Assorted.
Perhaps they will stock the product the next time I visit San Francisco.

Every time we drive by this store on the way to Costco we thought that this was the corporate office. After Googling to find out that it was actually a store so we stopped by yesterday.
The lady that helped us was very helpful and nice to deal and talk with. This will be our go-to store the next time we are in SF.

This is an institution in itself. if you ever come to South San Francisco stopping by the See's Candies store is a treat!. Just for visiting you can get one sample of any of the variety of chocolates that are in the counter. The ladies at the register are always pleasant and very patient. They will describe each candy in case you don't what flavor you want to choose.

We were originally given some of these as a gift to my better half for patient care rendered and they were amazing. I went for the first time recently to surprise her again after a long work week and the second you walk in its like you've gone to chocolate heaven. The rum raisin is a must try

Go to Costco a few miles down on the same street and get a gift certificate for 2 pounds of the candies for about 30% off. At the store, if you get the one pound box of the prepackaged truffles, it costs more than choosing your own from the counter. When you choose from the counter, all candies are priced the same as their regular boxed candies. So save some money and always get a custom box.

I stopped by Sees candy store to buy some thank you gifts for the nurses taking care of my brother in the ICU.
There was a very nice man working who gave me a 5 dollar off coupon and a few extra free samples. I spent a lot of money there and everyone loved the candy! So I went back to buy more, but this time 2 Asian ladies were working and they wouldn’t use the coupon and I barely got one free sample! They were not friendly and I saw one of the ladies filling her pockets with free samples from the drawer under the cash register. I was really turned off after that visit and I won’t be going back!

This was something that was definitely on my "To Do" list once I got to the Bay Area. I used to be stationed in the area many moons ago while I was in the Air Force and it became a tradition with me. It's sacrilege to not visit one of their shops if you're in the Bay Area. This particular shop was close to the motel I was staying in and I've never had a bad experience at any of their shops. Definitely well worth the stop and considering that Valentine's Day is right around the corner, you can't go wrong with a box of chocolates.

I purchased two See's Candies gift cards as a present and when my giftee went into the store to buy chocolate he was told that he can't use the gift card to buy chocolate in the store. I was very embarrassing to me that my gift turned out to be a dud. Why is See's selling gift cards if they can't be used in their stores?

Walked into this store while waiting for some friends to land at SFO. The nice lady working insisted we sample some truffles. 7 or 8 truffles later, we decided we were in heaven. Highly recommend this place.
