First I want to start by saying the experience of K1 Speed is great whether it be for a party (which my sister has had multiple times) or just for fun with some family and friends. The only thing that makes the experience less enjoyable is the service, especially from those who are at the front desk and those not working the actually race track. When we first walked we were curious if they had a military discount, and the first employee that we approached gave us a very condescending answer like we were dumb and should've known the answer already. Then we go to the front desk and it being most of our first times at K1 we did not know that we needed to enter our information first. So when she asked if we did, we answered no and she told us with a very upset tone saying "Well now I can't finish your transaction until you guys all register." She was obviously upset, and to their defense there was a sign that says to sign up to the right, but it was not obvious since the sign is just simply printed out on regular printer paper and slapped onto a big billboard. She could have simply asked if we registered before starting the transaction instead of being upset right off the bat. Will I come back? Sure. But not expecting a lot from those who are supposed to give good first impressions.

We took out teens out for a 2 hrs spin on the race track. Of course parents came in last! Greta and safe fun for the family of for team or a birthday party. One nice change from pervious years, its all balloter operated, no no yucky diesel smells. Great fun and safe. Good for a rainy day activity for sure.

Pretty fast go karts. We went here as a part of a Go San Francisco card we bought. It was on the way up to S.F. We had a blast.

We checked into our hotel and saw a brochure for K-1. It looked like fun, and the brochure even advertised a weekday discount package for walk-ins! So we walked in ... Only to discover that the chances of you walking in and taking advantage of their offer were 'slim and none.' As we walked in, there was a sign inside saying they were closed from 3 to closing - booked for various private parties. OK, bad luck perhaps, so we went to the front counter to find out about the next day. Guess what? There was a one hour time slot the next day when they didn't have everything booked, again. They suggested we call before coming over. So we did. When we called, we were told they were once again, closed all day due to various private parties. We tried one more time - the next day. Same story. So the lesson is this. If you don't have a group of 8 or more and book ahead, forget about it. You can't make reservations for singles - so their brochure offer is truly useless.

I have taken my kids to K1 Speed many times, mostly in Southern California. I think it's "nickel and dimey" that they charge you $8 for a "membership" that you have to pay every year when they are already extracting a hefty fee to drive around a track. You should know before going to this one that they only have one track - while other K1's have had two tracks. This is important for a few reasons. First, when they sell you the "package" at the beginning, they don't tell you that there can be a significant wait time just to get on the track. I only had two teenagers driving and had to wait an hour just to get on the track. Second, they also don't tell you that there can be significant wait times in between getting on the track - so if you think your teenagers are going to go three in a row, reset your expectations. Third, they make the kids put on the helmets, get into the cars, and then sometimes wait as long as 30 minutes (as mine did). This is incredibly unsafe when you combine all of the heat with having to wear a heavy helmet sitting down in a cramped space? Huge safety issue that isn't volunteered when you buy. So just know what you are going into - ask about wait times and process when you check in. They won't volunteer it.

We decided to attend while we were in town. Check in was just OK the person not friendly. We attended on Friday and we had to wait 45 mins before we can run 12 laps that cost $25.00 per person. Check in at Yelp and receive $5 off.

They had nice leather couches to relax in before our race. There was a local racer named "The Seargent" who was racing every other race spinning people out. Nice.

My son and husband raced around on the track and had a good time. I watched and took pics of them. They had never done this so it was something fun to do with a teenager.

We chose this activity as part of the Go City pass and it was a bit of fun. Electric carts are great. This is an indoor activity. We also had lunch here. It was just Ok. Probably would do it again.

This was our first time and as an adrenaline junkie myself, I completely regret why I haven't tried this one before. One race gives you enough rush to really say I was high on that track. Kids to adults, this is a must try. I love where the race is per your own time and not by placement meaning you don't need to crash each either to be first, just finish the track in your own fastest way. Be careful though as some are not so fat learning the mechanics and some are stupid enough to not brake fully (I got hit). If you know how to drive, you should know when and the distance you need to have to not bump into anybody. Free parking and service is quite nice and fast.

We stopped on a Saturday on our way through San Francisco We purchased 2 races, first race was awesome, now the 2nd. We were sitting in our carts when a group of older guys threw a fit because the lady up front didn’t get them all on the same race. They took their anger out on our 2 12 year olds and the 72 year old veteran!!! The entire race they were bumping and they would spin a racer out on purpose and then the other guys would ram into that racer. My son hit hit so hard he got out of his cart crying. These type of racers should not be rewarded for being jerks!!!! The staff was amazing by the way!!!!
