We were blown away by the amount of items in this small space: uniforms, models, badges, knifes, machine guns, bullets. Amazing. Our 5 year old loved all the ship models. All past wars represented.

Lots of interesting items crammed into this quite small museum - I could have stayed there all day. The guide was a great old boy who had seen quite a lot of service. Excellent museum. Ask about the Hanoi Jane (Fonda) poster which is used...More

Many interesting memorable military items. They are always looking for more military "things". You will learn more about the military performances in the different wars.

It takes a good long while to go through all the stuff in this building. If you're a veteran, or interested in military history, don't miss it.

This museum is worth the time to see all of the artifacts from the wars and also to honor our veterans.

Fine old building directly across from the Courthouse park on Washington St in downtown Sonora. Packed to the gills with local military items. Many books and information.

Unfortunately we got there with only 10 minutes left until they closed (at 2pm on weekdays), but it was fortunate that the docent was very accommodating and let us stay for a few extra minutes. The museum is free, but donations are welcomed. My husband...More

We stopped by, not really being buffs of War or Military and came away with a lot of great historical knowledge of the local veterans and the military history in the Sonora area and also during the gold rush years. The docent explained many of...More
