A small group of 3 of us decided to drop in on our way into wine country and are so pleased that we did! Small tasting room, but the staff was incredibly friendly and the wines were fantastic! My husband and I had actually just gotten in from Chicago. They recognized that it was "Cubs Day" back home while the... More

We were there a few days ago and met a lovely lady named Kate who was working the tasting table. Turns out Kate lived in Cincinnati, our hometown. She was a real pleasure, very easy to talk to and very knowledgeable. We enjoyed the tasting of the newly available 2015 Pinot Noir as well as the 2014. The only disappointment... More

Went there last Saturday for wine tasting. As we parked, a young lady in a Schug vest told us not to bother getting out of car as they were having a special event. We were told to go any other winery; weren't invited to stay for event, nor return at any future time. Staff needs anger management classes. I have... More

Walter Shug started this place to make wine. He did a great job. Wines made in the European style. Great history and wine. They do a very nice Pinot and a good Chardonnay. Small friendly place to taste wine.

Schug Carneros Estate goes to great lengths to make a quality Pinot Noir, and their efforts are your reward. The winery tour & visit has never been the focus of the estate, but now that the heirs of the estate have worked out their differences, you'll see an improvement in that part of the business. What you'll find today is... More

Our last vineyard stop, we were more interested in their self-guided tour through the vineyards, but be prepared for extreme heat and sunshine! The bartender was super fun; there was no push for buying anything (unlike most other vineyards). We got to try a late harvest chardonnay that was delightful!

It was the smallest of the tasting rooms we visited on a busy Saturday, but very enjoyable because of that. We were able to take our time and the person pouring for us that day let us taste a few things not on their normal tasting menu which I loved. They did have a $10 tasting fee which we didn't... This was a must visit for me because I'm a big fan of their Pinot Noir. The tasting room was small for the 10 of us but we went early enough and we were the only ones in it. Not sure anyone else would be able to fit. They did tell us that they were in the process of building... More

We found this place only by recommendation. It's a cute little winery hidden up the mountain a bit and off the beaten path. I highly recommend you stop in. Great Pinot niors and Chardonnay!
