2000 feet, 7.5 mph max speed. Scott, the pilot, is awesome!!! Due to fog they shuttled us to Calistoga, but it was a beautiful drive and happy we were able to fly!

For my 59th birthday I was in California and wanted to do something memorable for my birthday. I met my daughter who lives in SF, in Santa Rosa the night before the flight. We had to be at the meeting place at 0600. It was our first experience ballooning. The staff were professional and entertaining pouring glasses of champagne after... More

It was a first time balloon ride for my son and I but it will not be the last. The people operating the ride are very professional and safety focused. Due to fog they drove us to an area near Calistoga where there weren't winds or fog. It was a fun and beautiful way to celebrate a birthday. We both... More

And when I say high I mean almost 1400 ft great crew, beautiful scenery and awesome adventure! The basket was a little big about 20 people in it kinda felt like cattle but over all nice!

The reality of balloon travel is that the pilot has direct control over the up and down and the winds are responsible for all else. Good winds allow for steady, if slow, progress between launching and touch down. The pilot will raise and lower the balloon to work the winds in order to get from one point to another. My... More

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EXPERIENCE EVER. My girlfriend wanted to go on a hot air balloon for her birthday so I did some research and found this company on Groupon. I called Wine Country Balloon Tours before buying to make sure they had availably for the date. Whoever I spoke with told me that I could purchase the same deal through... More

Very misleading comments designed to distort what actually happened. Customers receive detailed complete information regarding weather constraints and logistics with their confirmation materials. Our website also goes into great detail, using videos to instruct passengers. After much deliberation, the chief pilot made a very prudent judgement call based on observing windy, unsafe conditions, only to be affronted by a handful... More

Third time is the charm. We tried to go for my wife's birthday twice before but Mother Nature had other plans. Finally we took flight on a Sunday morning flight. There were 2 balloons that day. One with 20 people and another with 8. We were in the 8 person balloon. It was a really fun group and our pilot... More

What a perspective on a positively perfect day! Serenely floating above the Sonoma Valley as the winds guided us peacefully to views of the Pacific Ocean, San Andreas fault head, Mt St Helena, lush Russian River Valley, vineyards, and all the trees, pastures, and homes beneath. A breathtaking experience left us waiting for our next Sonoma Country Balloons ride. Our... More

Our first experience on a balloon. There were a few companies at the same launch area. I can't tell you why; but I got the sense that our pilot and crew were much more experienced and knowledgable. The flight was great. There was a nice champagne brunch afterward. We had to get up at 3:30 am to get to the... More
