To be honest, it was a karmic combination of our friend running late for lunch and us parking right across the street from this vibrant museum that caused us to stroll in. We have been to Sonoma for years, but we never noticed this place...More

The museum is world class and easy to experience during a short break from dining, shopping and wine tasting on the square. The new museum shop is terrific too.

We expected an art gallery and sales of local art. how wrong! We saw two excellent and thought-provoking exhibits, enhanced by a very good docent tour. One was rug weaving from Egypt, the other a photographer and exposition on the effects of a major dam...More

We saw an unusual show of small subtle works by Richard Deibenkorn. They specialize in unusual and you will be fortunate when you make time for a stop.

We happened to hit this gem on a free monthly day but would have paid to see their exhibit. Very well done with a video presentation and children's activity area too. For the size this was very impressive.

A nice local museum with many examples of local artists. Wine country themes are of course, predominate. There are some good examples of ancient Spanish art, probably from original settlers. Worthwhile to visit, knowledgeable docents.

I wish our hometown would have a museum just like this. Perfect. We spent around an hour at the 'Realism' exhibit and loved it. The art is varied and the information provided about the artists and their approach to their work was just perfect. Great...More
