My friend and I stopped by for an impromptu tasting on May 27. We had a pleasant experience tasting and I was impressed enough to bring home some of the impressive wines offered. The experience has been overshadowed and ruined by the fact they charged me twice for my purchase and will not correct it. I have followed up with Walt 6 times now without ever receiving a call back or my double charge returned. It is 11 days later and this has not been corrected despite many assurances and apologies. I cannot recommend Walt and would actually extend an admonition to completely steer clear. By their actions I would say they are a risky business to hand your credit card to.

This was our last tasting and our hopes to finish our collection of wines with an excellent Pinot Noir. We had to choose between Three Stix and Walt, but chose Walt since they had mostly Pinot Noir to taste. First mistake by them was we arrived and were asked whether we wanted inside or out. We requested Outside and 10 minutes later we were seated inside. My feeling was that it was warm out and the Host was not comfortable being outside. He also spent more time telling us about the weather and humidity where the wines came from instead about the wines themselves. The Pinot Noirs served were pretty good but did not rate the prices they were asking and when he brought out the one that we would have considered it was even more expensive. We had the feeling that since they were getting wines from vineyards and putting their label on that they were upcharging. Our quest in Napa when we left was lacking a pinot noir. Maybe next time will try Three Stix.

Good wine but some of the wines you can find cheaper at Costco etc. For instance their 2018 Pinot Blue Jay is $44 on their website. Their club price is around $37, but you can get it at Costco for $31.99 and save shipping costs

We attended Walt for a wine and chocolate tasting courtesy of our hotel. First, the wine is great--they offer Pinots only so make sure you love Pinot before you go. The chocolates were amazing and perfectly paired. The wines are more expensive than most other wineries in which you'll visit. While the service was good and the team very knowledgeable, we did experience a slightly heavier sales pitch (pressure) than we experienced elsewhere on the trip (hence the 4 stars).

I did a wine & chocolate tasting at WALT winery in Sonoma last week and it was one of my favorites! Elan Villamor was an outstanding host. He was very knowledgeable on the wine making process and the Sonoma area. Elan made the tasting experience memorable and fun! He also took some amazing photos of my husband and I during the tasting. I would highly recommend a wine tasting at WALT wines and ask for Elan because he is the BEST!

If you like Pinot noir wines, Walt Wines may be worth a visit, just to sip some higher end vintages. We liked the wines, but did not like the prices. They ranged between $50 and $80 a bottle.

Some of the best Pinot around combiners with superb service and knowledgeable wine educators (especially at the Sonoma Square outpost) for a wonderful day. These are big and bold, truly the cab lovers Pinot. Bob’s, Rossela’s, Sierra Mar and Clos Pepe are our favs.

It is a unique tasting experience because you taste several different Pinot noirs from different areas of California and Oregon. If you are not a Pinot noir fan you might become one. Service was excellent and the location is convenient. It’s more than wine tasting it is an experience

Our general love of Pinot is what drew us to Sonoma from New Jersey in the first place. We aren't sophisticated wine drinkers, but we know what we like once we taste it! Our stop at Walt allowed us to expand our knowledge of Pinots, compare some outstanding wines, and gain a better understanding of what kind of Pinots we enjoy the most and from what regions/soils. This was one of the most meaningful stops we made during our stay in Sonoma due to the fact that we were able to compare/contrast the different Pinots. This was an expensive tasting relative to the others we enjoyed but we had 6 different wines (plus a bonus one that they just released) two weeks prior). We shared a tasting and it worked out perfectly. The pours were on the heavy side and thoroughly enjoyed on the patio. Be prepared to stay awhile due to the size and quantity of the pours, but trust me, you won't be in a hurry. You'll want to savor this experience.

We’re huge fans of Walt Pinots! They have 1000 miles of Pinot Noir vineyards from WA to CA.
The garden is quaint and lovely to sit and taste. I recommend reservations on weekends since they get groups in as well.
