Randomly picked the tasting room at Napa (oxbow) with an ambience that is casual and unpretentious while feeling at home sipping on curated selections of fine pinot noir. The chocolate pairing from Kollar finely complimented the tastings. Josh brown was very knowledgeable and friendly and spent time explaining the wine in the context of the topography of the wine country. We are glad we decided to try Walt and will be back here when we visit wine country. Try this anytime when you are in Napa.

We are HALL wine members and big Pinot Noir fans so figured we would check out WALT and loved it! It is not on a vineyard as their grapes are sourced from multiple vineyards. The garden was quaint to sit in. Our host was lovely (I am so sorry I am suddenly blanking on his name). Overall great wine and experience and we will be back.

We attended Walt for a wine and chocolate tasting courtesy of our hotel. First, the wine is great--they offer Pinots only so make sure you love Pinot before you go. The chocolates were amazing and perfectly paired. The wines are more expensive than most other wineries in which you'll visit. While the service was good and the team very knowledgeable, we did experience a slightly heavier sales pitch (pressure) than we experienced elsewhere on the trip (hence the 4 stars).

My friend and I stopped by for an impromptu tasting on May 27. We had a pleasant experience tasting and I was impressed enough to bring home some of the impressive wines offered. The experience has been overshadowed and ruined by the fact they charged me twice for my purchase and will not correct it. I have followed up with Walt 6 times now without ever receiving a call back or my double charge returned. It is 11 days later and this has not been corrected despite many assurances and apologies. I cannot recommend Walt and would actually extend an admonition to completely steer clear. By their actions I would say they are a risky business to hand your credit card to.

Good wine but some of the wines you can find cheaper at Costco etc. For instance their 2018 Pinot Blue Jay is $44 on their website. Their club price is around $37, but you can get it at Costco for $31.99 and save shipping costs

If you like Pinot noir wines, Walt Wines may be worth a visit, just to sip some higher end vintages. We liked the wines, but did not like the prices. They ranged between $50 and $80 a bottle.

Our general love of Pinot is what drew us to Sonoma from New Jersey in the first place. We aren't sophisticated wine drinkers, but we know what we like once we taste it! Our stop at Walt allowed us to expand our knowledge of Pinots, compare some outstanding wines, and gain a better understanding of what kind of Pinots we enjoy the most and from what regions/soils. This was one of the most meaningful stops we made during our stay in Sonoma due to the fact that we were able to compare/contrast the different Pinots. This was an expensive tasting relative to the others we enjoyed but we had 6 different wines (plus a bonus one that they just released) two weeks prior). We shared a tasting and it worked out perfectly. The pours were on the heavy side and thoroughly enjoyed on the patio. Be prepared to stay awhile due to the size and quantity of the pours, but trust me, you won't be in a hurry. You'll want to savor this experience.

We’re huge fans of Walt Pinots! They have 1000 miles of Pinot Noir vineyards from WA to CA.
The garden is quaint and lovely to sit and taste. I recommend reservations on weekends since they get groups in as well.

We went to another wine tasting place about a block away and were recommended Walt because the other place was fully booked and Walt does not require reservations. So thankful for the recommendation. Great explanations and tastings particularly for Pinot.

We’ve visited wineries all over the world and this was one of our most disappointing experiences. We are part of the GEMS program and had a reservation. The tasting room was overcrowded and noisy-14 people at 3 tables crammed in the small front room. It was so loud we couldn’t hear our own friends at the table, much less the wine host. Unfortunately, it was hard to appreciate the wines, given the noise and lack of atmosphere. Worst of all, according to the GEMS literature, we were entitled to “enjoy complimentary tastings for up to 4 guests per visit”, but our tasting room host wanted to charge us for 2 of the tastings (there were only 4 of us). She ended up not charging us, but only after she argued with is about it. This winery did not meet our expectations for a GEMS Program winery.
