About
Anaba Wines was founded in 2006 by proprietor John Sweazey when a decades long dream came to fruition. Early inspiration and trips to France in the 1970s helped shape the vision, varietals and vibe for the vineyards and tasting room. We are now proud to welcome you to our brand new tasting room and hospitality center, the Vintners House, where we showcase not only our boutique wines but also the natural beauty of Carneros. Our winemakers craft our highly-rated wines from the best Rhône and Burgundian grape varieties grown at our Estate vineyard and select properties around Sonoma County. Our name, Anaba, is derived from the anabatic winds that flow through the vineyards. In 2009, we installed a 45-foot wind turbine on the estate, and our winery building boasts top of the line solar panels. When visiting, you'll notice intentional, wind-inspired design throughout the tasting room. Join us for a game of bocce ball, sit fireside, or wander the mistral courtyard. See you soon!

This is the spot to be. The views are unbelievable. Its absolutely breathtaking and to die for. Obvi its mostly white people, but still very inclusive. We are a gay couple who felt totally comfortable in this atmosphere. The wines are fantastic, in fact so good we bought three bottles and drank them there.

Just returned from a fabulous morning of Pickle Ball on the court overlooking the beautiful Sonoma Mountains and vineyards followed by a Legacy tasting with excellent service provided throughout our visit by Brandon!
Brandon was friendly, knowledgeable and attentive and his expertise was appreciated by several in the group who have been wine servers themselves, so that they having an appreciation for and understanding of good wines and service.
We were excited to try the 2023 PicPoul Blanc, an ancient varietal Rhone when offered. It is always fun to try something a bit atypical. Several bottles were purchased so it was definitely a winner. The side by side tasting of the Pinots and Syrahs were appreciated too as we were able to explore the nuances of each.
Thank you so much for such a wonderful experience!

Visited Anaba this past weekend on a recommendation from a friend and it was a delight!! Their back patio and lawn are situated in such a picturesque spot with the rolling hills and vineyards in the background. We had a larger group so we opted to sit out on picnic blankets rather than a table and it was great. Soaked up the sun and hung out for about 2 hours. They are doing self serve for tastings right now with decanters but the staff checked in every so often which was sweet. Can’t wait to go back!!

My husband and I toured three wineries on 3/27 and Anaba was our favorite! Dan Wood was an excellent host and is very knowledgeable on the Sonoma area and the wine making process. The winery is beautiful and was the perfect place to sit outside and enjoy the Anaba Turbine White and a charcuterie board! I highly recommend this winery; you will not be disappointed!

We stopped here during our girls wine trip. This is a brand new tasting room and we loved it! Very modern with a lodge like feel. The best Pinot Noir I tasted in the valley this trip. One of my favorite wineries in the area!

We found this place through the VISA signature program. We walked in and the place was totally empty on July 5th. They seemed happy to see us until we mentioned the VISA program, then the woman who warmly greeted us left the room and turned us over to an older gentleman who didn't know much about the wine. This made me think they get their revenue from tasting fees and not from selling their wine and it also made me doubt the veracity of their Wine Advocate point listings.
They were a bit stingy, only allowing for two tastes with the VISA program.
We tried the 2009 Chardonnay which had almost no flavor because it tasted like they pulled it out of the freezer, always a bad sign for a white. We also tasted the 2009 Pinot Noir which had a good nose but a flat body and virtually no finish.
Overall we were not impressed. A note to the owners/vinter: if your wines are good and you have confidence in them, then let people taste them. We were the only ones here that day and you didn't seem to want us to try your wine which is why you got no sale.

I went to Anaba last year on a Saturday and the place was dead. I told them I pass by everyday on my commute to work and was interested in tasting their wines. I showed my license which confirms that I am a local and live in the town of Sonoma. Everyother Sonoma winery extends this courtesy of not charging locals for takes. Not Anaba. I will NEVER recommend anyone to visit of buy their wine.

We loved this tasting. First we got seated and that is always my preference. We had the usual pours and some extra pours. The rose was tasty, the Chardonnay good but the pino noir,s were terrific! Buck was nice and made us feel welcome. They also have a pretty garden.

we had a wonderful experience during our wine tasting. We enjoyed all the wines - and they were quite generous with them, they have a lovely outdoor seating area. The service was wonderful. Perfect amount of detail for each wine.

My partner and I went on this trip to get outside our typical sweet wine world. Typically I do not like any dry white whines, and was humoring my partner by coming to this vineyard. but what I wasn’t expecting, was to truly enjoy every single wine Joel put in front of me. Joel explained everything in depth, and discussed the notes we each tasted. He answered all of our silly questions with genuine kindness and care. He is wonderful! Then Cato graced us with his presence and allowed us to give him the pats! It is our favorite stop so far on our 3 days Sonoma wine venture. I didn’t mention the scenery, which was stunning. The vineyard is quaint, and that made the wine more special.
