Great kid-friendly winery. The atmosphere is chill and relaxed, almost like a beer garden. The wines were all tasty and we appreciated that they had a diverse food menu (the rosemary olive oil here is amazing!). Kids will feet right at home, even though the Bocce Court was closed due to the pandemic. It's not the most scenic of views and I wish that our server had spent more time with us talking about the various wines. But other than that, it was enjoyable and I would recommend especially if you have kids, as they are made to feel welcome.

Bob our guide provided us with a unique history of the family, the land and how it all transformed from rodeo grounds to a family winery today. We sampled all red's that we both enjoyed, but ended up not purchasing. If your looking for a relaxing environment with out the fuss and pressure to join a club or purchase it's a nice stop off of the main road with down to earth people and vibe. It doesn't have to sound or look fancy to be good - I would recommend adding this to your stop.

When your done with the snooty vineyards visit this place. This is where you come for good wine, welcoming atmosphere, good value, and dog friendly. Bring some picnic food or buy some stuff in the shop (cheese, meat, crackers). This is the kinda place you want to hangout at on the regular!

We were members of Larson for years and enjoyed the quaint, family-friendly winery. But throughout the years they have "changed" into just another overpriced money grabbing Napa winery.
During the shutdowns, they implemented a no outside food policy, "for our safety and local health regulations." But they sold food there that is apparently safer than my food from home. We instead had to go out front and have a picnic in the parking lot to eat our food.
Okay, understood but we canceled our membership for the time being because we had no plans to visit the winery with such restrictions.
Napa county recently when to a lower restricted tier so I called and was excited to renew our membership in hopes they allow outside food. I was informed their outside food policy is now an internal policy no longer related to "my safety or local health regulations". However, you can buy their own food and sounds like this will be a long standing policy.
Looks like they saw the revenue coming in from their inside food sales and decided It was looking too good and changed their policy. A long standing Napa winery tradition of friends and family bringing goodies to eat and share can not happen there but we can instead buy their premade sandwiches.
PLEASE LARSON, consider allowing outside food again!

We visited yesterday like we have for the last three years when visiting Sonoma. Larson has decent wines but we have always come back for the laid back atmosphere and the ability to sit outside for a picnic. I will say that the gentlemen doing our tasting, Tony, could not have been more pleasant. No issues with him at all.
We walked in with food in hand and were immediately greeted very rudely by the operations manager, Don. He was very concerned with telling us that it was $10 per person to sit on the tables outside to eat our lunch. I told him our plan was to buy a bottle of wine for lunch and then do a tasting after lunch. He said if we went outside it was $10 per person even if we got a bottle of wine so we might as well pay $15 per person for the tasting outside. Our lunch was getting cold, so we just agreed to the tasting fee.
We walked outside and there were about 6 people total out there so I am not sure what the nonsense is about charging to sit at a table. We have been to much nicer wineries that will allow you to buy a bottle and sit outside for lunch. Very strange.
After lunch, we bought three bottles of wine but Don refused to waive any tasting fees because they had to do "table service". Suddenly, that is any different from the hundreds of wineries who do table service and waive tasting fees with purchases.
This has never been our experience with Larson in the past, but we have never seen Don before. We will not be back. There are too many great wineries to go where the guy in charge is so rude. You may want to consider keeping Don behind the scenes.

We stopped by Larson Family Winery at around 2pm on a Sunday. It was fairly busy given the beautiful day, but we had no problem purchasing a bottle of wine and heading to their back patio to hang out. It's a very family and group friendly atmosphere with picnic tables, lawn games, and a gorgeous view of the vineyards. You can bring food from the outside, but drinks need to be purchased onsite. We loved how casual it was and the staff was great! We stayed for a couple hours just soaking in the great weather and enjoying a great Chardonnay. We played ladder golf, walked through the vineyard to take pictures, and just enjoyed being in wine country. This is a must go!

Came here bc we needed a laid-back spot for us worn-out parents to relax with things for the kids to do. This is the place- beautiful land, good wine, cute labs, and games for kids/ adults. Sat under the patio at a large picnic table with a nice breeze. No-nonsense Bob served us- shared good info on the wines and some fun stories about his police days in SF. Would recommend this winery for families!!

This family farm vineyard is waaaaayyyyyy down the end of Millerick Rd. There's even a sign that states "You're almost there" in case you thought you missed it. The three labs are just adorable and the cab named after them (not actually the three that are there but...) is really good. You can choose a flight of 5 of your choices from a very big list, or taste 5 from their reserve. All worth the trip.

Beautiful grounds, especially for families. However the young male server needs some training on how to pour a properly sized tasting sample. We opted to taste the 6 samples from the reserve list and we were only poured one ounce servings. Definitely not worth the price we paid or even enough to decide if we liked the wine!

Thank you for visiting! We are glad you enjoyed the scenic, family-friendly wine experience. We strive to share all our wines with our guests, and to also follow our permitting regulations. One ounce pours are fairly standard in the industry. You're also welcome to enjoy our wines by the glass while you sit in the sun. We hope you'll come back to see us again. Cheers.

Jimmy knew what he was talking about, and the winery knows how to make great wine! To enhance the Wine Tasting experience at this old western ranch, Jimmy had us settle in under the huge outdoor, covered “Tasting Room”, then proceeded to relate the interesting history of the ranch. As he poured each wine and told us about them, he would throw in additional interesting tidbits about the ranch. It was a great way to start our Sonoma wine tasting experience, and was actually the best wine of our day! I’m glad we joined the wine club at Larson.
By the way, there is no need to have any concerns that the recent fires will adversely impact your visit to the area. You will see “scars” on the hillsides left by the fires, but I doubt you will find any reason that the fires changed your plans for a wonderful visit.
