My wife and I have done multiple wine tours and tastings around the world - but I have to say the Nicholson Ranch “cave tour and tasting” we did with our private party of six was the most impressive of all the tours we have done. This boutique facility is gorgeous, and it is small, so it doesn’t take long... More

Our group had a wonderful time at this winery. We would liked to have stayed longer but had a big itinerary and not a lot of time. The property is just spectacular and when you learn that they are making the wine without artificial anything, it makes it taste that much better. John was our guide, he is passionate about... More

The winery is small. They do not distribute their wine if you want it you have to come and get it. Which is a shame because it is really good. The staff more informative and you could tell the owner really loved what he does for a living. My favorite was the Chardonnay Sonoma Valley. Light and crisp. Had a... More

We enjoyed several hours at this vineyard. Our personal tour guide John was outstanding and did a great job explaining the more traditional methods of growing and harvesting their grapes. The dry farming as well as hand picking and the processing of the wine seemed much more natural and intimate here. The vineyard was very scenic rolling over the low... More

I live in Sonoma and regularly go wine tasting. I had passed Nicholson Ranch many times on my way to Napa and always said I should check it out. My son and his wife were visiting this weekend so we decided to go and check it out. Entering the property you pass through a beautiful vineyard and enter a fabulous... More

Let me put it right out there: any winery in Sonoma that charges $20 for tasting and then doesn't waive the fee with a certain level of wine purchase is in the Stone Age. Why go there? This isn't a high end winery that would warrant that type of pricing. We have visited several times over the past 10 years... More

We arrived soon after they opened, before the tour buses started arriving. Were taken good care of by the tasting room staff. Got to meet the owner/winemaker as well. Nicholson Ranch produces stellar Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, at reasonable prices. The grounds are spectacular. We were quite comfortable on the patio with our wine and panoramic vistas. Go. Taste. Enjoy.

This was one of my most favorite wineries visited during my weekend trip to Napa and Sonoma with friends. The staff was so incredibly friendly! We did a tour and had Debbie who just knocked it out of the park, she was so informative and fun! We visited multiple wineries during our weekend and this was one of the best!... More

My wife and I visited this winery a few months ago. We were part of a group on a full-day wine tour with Platypus Tours. This winery is modern and has been purpose-built for estate wine production. We were given a guided tour of the property which included the underground cellars and wine-tasting room. Up above ground there is a... More
