I participated in a foraging hike with Joel. He was barefoot almost the entire time! He taught us about edible plants and other survival skills. My favorite experience was eating raw cactus; I had no idea it was so delicious.

In the picture, there's Joel teaching us about a diy toothbrush.

His nature knowledge is incredible.

He is very personable and explains things easily.

I also attended a family hike with him in the past; he was amazing with the kids.

His volunteer, Ginny, is also wonderful.

Our family has been on many trails with Joel and we always have a great time and learn so much. I highly recommend signing up for one of his waterfall hikes, or foraging hikes, or storytelling hikes, any of his hikes!

Fantastic time hiking to the waterfall in Trabuco Canyon. Along the way Joel showed us what plants are edible and surprisingly, there are many. We now can survive a disaster by simply retreating into nature and feeding off the ample food. It's a slightly technical hike with some steeper sections, several creek crossings and lots of poison oak dodging. we later we saw a beautiful waterfall and the teenagers caught and released some newts. There was even a small swimming hole to take a dip. I have been on many hikes with Joel and I learn something new every time. Highly recommended! Get out and see what is in your back yard.

Go on a guided hike and learn about the local flora and fauna. We love Naturalist for You! We go with our 3 and 4 year olds and Joel is great about connecting with them too.

Venturing into the wilderness? There is none better than Joel Robinson of "Naturalist for You". Even John Muir himself would not be able to provide the experience of connecting with nature that Joel provides. Joel's talents lie in the ability to communicate about his a passion for all things NATURE. He gives hints and highlights about the birds, the bees, the flower, and the trees. He points out amazing things that the average person does not see. His long experience and education provides the foundation to observe and describe. If you want an entertaining and educational experience...there is NONE BETTER than Joel Robinson at Naturalist for You!

An outing with Joel Robinson is an escape out of the "concrete jungle" and into the wild. It's a chance to see and hear bats, tarantulas, glow worms, and other creepy critters, as well as smell (and sometimes taste) what are, for most of us, unusual and intriguing plants, that have been here for millennia. Can you survive wild California? Do you think it will survive all of us? Take a tour - go outside and find out!

*In the interest of full disclosure I have to admit that I am a friend of Joel & his family - and have been ever since going on his outings more than 10 years ago.

Thank you for sharing your sensory experience! As far as we are concerned, the journey is as important as the destination. Our collection of naturalists are prepared to guide everyone to local wilderness. It is my pleasure to help folks escape the "concrete jungle."

Definitely a lot of fun. We didn't do it with a guide, due to timing..... however I'm sure the guide would have made the experience so much more exciting and memorable.

Strongly recommend taking hiking/tennis shoes. If you arrive at medium tide, like we did, then be prepared to walk barefoot for a section or change into water shoes.

Place is not on the popular side, not on the boat side. It's on the rocks side. Better go there in the morning, otherwise waves tides will make you hard to walk on the rocks road, easy get wet to your shoes and pants. But it's worthy to see the cave.

Aye matey! Tis a worthwhile adventure during low tide. It is always a pleasure to guide those who are prepared to get their feet wet and navigate the rocks amongst the tide pools and cliffs. Plenty of sea creatures lurk about and the peregrine falcons sometimes appear. The remote cave is vast and beckons curious travelers.

Really awesome!
There were so many great things to see, so many sea creatures in the tide pools, the captain was really funny and a great guide. He played really fun songs and told wonderful stories!
The caves were amazing!!
We were able to see the sun setting in the caves and it was just beautiful. Absolutely perfect.
Highly recommended :)

*Likely to sell out: Based on Viator’s booking data and information from the provider from the past 30 days, it seems likely this experience will sell out through Viator, a Tripadvisor company.
