The sparking wines at Iron Horse will make you forget Champagne. The rustic outdoor tasting bar overlooks the stunning Green River Valley, and sits in the midst of their Pinot Noir and Chardonnay vineyards. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable and the still wines also...More

The tasting is standing along a rail in the gravel parking lot. You're separated from the rail by the servers and their set up so it's tough to really enjoy. We were there over this past weekend on a sunny, but not hot day, about...More

Off the beaten path so to speak. This area is greener and more lush than other areas this time of year. Sparkling wines rivaled our favorite of Chandon.

Selected this vineyard for its $3 oysters but they were 3 for $9. The servers were not particularly friendly but glad I tried the grilled oysters! They were amazing! Our tasting was fine but we got more attention from the guy next to us who...More

Visited yesterday and had a great time. The weather was perfect, views amazing and the staff was friendly and engaging. Their sparkling wine in many different varieties was excellent. Reservations are required but if there is space they will let you in.

A Russian River vineyard well worth a visit if you enjoy bubbles. We enjoyed the tasting which offered a good range of their wines. The views from the outdoor tasting area are lovely - you might even see some birds soaring waiting to pounce on...More

Although a little out of the way this winery is worth the drive. The winery is a bit rustic but my group of 7 loved the atmosphere. We got lucky and came on a day when they were selling oysters and cheeses which was a...More

The Pino Noir and Sparkling Wines are great. The customer service from the staff was great, the view was beautiful, and we had a great time. I want to point out an issue. While we were leaving there was a dirt road with a pretty...More

It would depend upon the age. We had 16 and 17 year olds with us and they were fine. But there's not much at ANY winery to interest/entertain children. Ours just love being with family so they were fine. But wineries, in... More

My husband is NOT a still wine fan but he Loves sparkling wines. This time we are planning one day to go to the following three wineries. Can anyone suggest a logical plan of attack? We are staying at the Renaissance in Sonona. We have been to Gloria Ferrer but woudn't mind winding up there for a glass of bubbly to end the day time permitting. 1) J Vinyards and Winery 2) Iron Horse Vineyards 3) Korbel Champagne Cellars

The assumption is that you will travel CA 12 from Sonoma into Santa Rosa. Continue on CA 12 west into Sebastopol. Right onto CA 116 towards Forestville. Left on Ross Station Road to Iron Horse. Stay all day, and forget the other two wineries. Okay, you didn't heed my advice. You are now back on 116 and pass thru Forestvillan's back yard. When you cross over the Russian River, then turn right onto River Road. Korbel is half way hidden on your left as you are traveling east to 13250...More
