5 stars for the wine. The tasting was mediocre.

I felt like we we pushed through the tasting quickly - there is minimal tasting notes on the paper guide you're given, and the host didn't elaborate much on them either. Most wineries give you an extra pour or two other than what's on the list, but this one provided none (except if you ask for a specific one, they will). Also, all tasting was being done standing (not seated).

In addition, I asked the host to take a picture of us, and maybe I should have checked my phone before he went away, but the photo came out with the telephone pole right behind us, and water bottle on our table etc. For how beautiful the view was supposed to be (it is, but there are many other wineries in the area with fantastic views), this is a picture that I just want to delete for good. Overall pretty poor customer service.

My wife and I found Iron Horse Vineyards the first day of our eight day stay in Sonoma County. Our first winery stop on our wine journey in Sonoma was a good place, but not what we were looking for. To the credit of our host, she asked what we were looking for, and my wife quickly answered "bubbles!" To that comment we were directed to the Iron Horse Vineyards. Boy, what a wonderful find! My wife and I routinely drink and buy Chandon. We have visited the Chandon vineyards in Napa and in Australia near Melbourne. Iron Horse "bubbles," to us exceed our previous favorite, Chandon. We liked it to the point, we stopped a second time this past weekend as we were leaving Sonoma for our return to Oklahoma, and joined their "wine club!" We will now be receiving Iron Horse sparkling wines throughout the next year, and hopefully beyond. If you are a champagne or sparkling wine enthusiast, do yourself a giant favor, and visit Iron Horse Vineyards when you visit Sonoma County.

We have been coming to Iron Horse for years. It's off the beaten path, but that comes with an absolutely stunning view and the best bubbles in Sonoma. Jared was our host and he was a wonderful delight. We were caught in construction traffic and arrived a little late, but he went above and beyond to accommodate us (Did I mention that Iron Horse is almost always my favorite stop in wine country?). He even sabered a bottle for us as we were the last people there for the day! We became members not only because their wine is fantastic, but also because of the great customer service by Jared.

We went during times of COVID and the staff very safety-focused, attentive, warm and knowledgeable. Our outdoor tasting was delightful and a pre-arranged picnic in the gazebo was such a special treat. Overall a lovely way to spend an afternoon. Next time we'll try the Sunday Oyster pairing!

He thoroughly enjoyed our wine tasting at Iron Horse. They specialize in sparkling wine, but do you have some Pinot and Chardonnay still wines. The wines are exceedingly smooth and delicious. We had the opportunity to taste several. My favorites were Gratitude, Wedding, and Russian River. We had a wonderful host who made our testing perfect. We sent a case of wine back home and some to family. Shipping is just a dollar. You can join their wine club.

The winery is located on a beautiful hillside, surrounded by grape vineyards. There was OK even a rainbow. It would be perfect if they offered some food or have food trucks.

Iron Horse has been one of the top sparkling wine makers in all of the USA. It is up there with Roederer, Domaine Carneros, Mumms, Gloria Ferrer and Domaine Chandon. In fact, in had more Wine Spectator ratings in the 90s than the others. But at $35 per person, it is a relative bargain. Whereas as the other places are quite fancy, Iron Horse has stayed to his roots, one lane roads over a wooden bridge, dirt parking lots and outdoor tastings only. Tanner was our server, very pleasant and very knowledgeable.

If you are looking for a gorgeous view while learning a little about the wine industry this is for you. They have good pours and have bubbles if you like sparkling wines. Pro tip, if you go on the weekends you’ll likely get inexperienced “pourers”.

My sisters and I set up a tour at IRON HORSE VINEYARD a month before we traveled, 7 of us provided cell phone numbers and email addresses. We drove 1 1/2 hours in a rain storm to make our scheduled tour. When we arrived 10 minutes early we were met by a nasty man who told us all tours were canceled due to no electric. When I asked why no one called to cancel this man became angry.
And when my sister asked to use the restroom before we started back on the road he told her NO. And suggested we leave NOW.
The unprofessional staff and total disorganization left a sour taste in my mouth. I would not waste my time going to IRON HORSE VINEYARD there are so many other beautiful and friendly vineyards to visit. ALEXANDER VALLEY, KORBEL, DUTCHERS CROSSING,
RUED, CHATEAU ST JEAN is especially BEAUTIFUL!!!

Broad selection of wines available for tasting - great sparklings, the late harvest viognier is a must try. Perched at the top of a hill overlooking vineyards almost as far as the eye can see, the laid-back outdoor tasting room consists of a few wooden planks and barrels, the ground for a spit bucket, and magnificent views. Staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. A wonderful Sonoma experience, it's on our list whenever we visit the area!
