We treated visiting (foodie) family members to a wonderful tour of 6 makers at the Barlow. Our tasty treats included Nitro coffee and avocado toast, a flight of microbrews, a tour of cheddar cheesemaking, wine tasting, excellent sliders and slaw, and a topper of truffles and macarons. We were ably led by a 5th generation local farmer and theater arts teacher/performer who was knowledgeable, fun and engaging. We frequently got to meet with the makers and ask questions about the process of their craft. Sebastopol is a charming, quirky town and this tour just added to its appeal. I would highly recommend it as a unique way to spend the day and enjoy friends or family. (Grown ups only)

We really enjoyed the tour! Nancy was a great tour guide and she has so much knowledge of Sebastopol with all of her family history!  Nancy regaled us with lots of interesting stories. It felt like we were getting a unique experience and not just a run of the mill/cookie-cutter one. And, of course, the food and drink were great! That avocado toast with scallion oil on top at Taylor Lane was fabulous, as were the Trust Me tacos from Barrio and of course, the desserts at the Patisserie Angelica. And, each restaurant/wine bar/brew pub also did a nice job taking care of us on the tour. All in all, it was a great experience and I recommend it.

Though the tour is called "Meet the Makers" I think we met only one maker---the cheese guy. But our group of 6 and guide Lynne had a pleasant few hours and enjoyed lots of good food. Maybe too much food, actually. We did not have yerba mate and did not visit a distillery, as listed in the tour description in August 2019. It was interesting to learn a bit about Sebastopol and The Barlow and it certainly was pleasant to visit various places for tastings without having to pay the check each time.

It was our pleasure to host you for a tour, and we're happy that you enjoyed the food and learned a bit about the history of Sebastopol and The Barlow! Feedback from our tour guests is just priceless to us and enables us to continually improve the experience, so we appreciate your review. We're very fortunate to have so many wonderful tasting options available to us and we do change things up from time to time depending on the availability of our partners, but it sounds like we could do a better job of making that clear on our website. We certainly hope that the changes didn't affect your overall experience too much. Thank you again for the kind review and for joining us for the tour! Bridget

The Food Crush Tour is a really fun experience. You get to sample a variety of foods, beer, wine and desert while on a nice walking tour of the area. Nancy, our tour guide is a 5th generational local, so knows the area and history plus she has an amazing personality. I own The Gables Wine Country Inn. We went on this tour to determine if it was worth sharing with our guests. We absolutely recommend this fun experience.

I was recently invited to take a Food Crush Tour and reluctantly accepted due to my very busy schedule. The tour far exceeded my expectations. Our tour guide, Nancy, was knowledgeable, fun, and very passionate about the preservation of the little town of Sebastopol. Nancy showed up with a smile, full of enthusiasm, and hats in hand to shade the attendees from the sun -- so thoughtful. The tour offered a lot of history about the area, introductions to great wines and crafted beers, specialty shops, and so much more. This is definitely an experience I recommend to visitors and locals. This is a great tour for team building, small groups and special occasions. Also, a great tour for individuals because you are with a group and will make new acquaintances.
