I had a great time on Teri's Sausalito walking tour last week. I am a Bay Area Native (San Francisco born) and I have been in and around Sausalito for more than half a century; however Teri's understanding and Knowledge of Historical perspectives brought to me a fresh view of this quaint little seaside town.
The walk provided for me a pleasant walk in the Sunshine surrounded by like minded, historically absorbed people. Teri unveiled a cornucopia of fun tid-bits of historical folklore and information about the early days of the town's initial settlement, as well as countless insights concerning Sausalito's sometimes checkered past. The information she provided about the World War 2 Kaiser Shipbuilding was also interesting---I knew a lot about this subject prior to the walk---but I learned new information ---which was delightful.
I met a local bay area photographer who was also a member of our walking tour and she showed me some of her photographs (especially recently taken shots of the Golden Gate Bridges 75th Anniversary). I ended up buying a copy on a book she has published and it now adorns my coffee table.
All in all I would highly recommend this walk to any of my friends---It is a great way to spend a few hours by the bay. I have some friends visiting from Nepal this coming weekend and if I have time I may try and take them on Teri's walk---there is a great Himalayan restaurant in Sausalito called "A Taste of the Himalayas"---a trip to Sausalito and Terri's walk could end up as a double treat.

We asked Terri for some of her time for a group on a Saturday afternoon and were unfortunately VERY late. For a number of reasons, we kept Terri waiting for a very long time. In phone conversations, she helped us find our way, helped us find parking on a very busy Saturday afternoon, and when we got there, she had a google map printed out for us for our return home to avoid the traffic!! She spent the time with us as though we had not wasted a moment of her day. She was kind, informative and very enjoyable. If you are among the many who are going to see the wooden boat tour, I would highly suggest you also go on Terri's walking tour… it is a different view of a very colorful community. Thanks Terri, for everything.

My 11 year old daughter and I spent a few weeks in San Francisco this summer. It was our first trip to the area so I wanted to us to have a fun-filled, action packed fully rounded experience. For our Sausalito visit I thought the addition of a creative opportunity to our walking tour would really enhance experience. I was soooo right! Susan Sternau was our tour guide and our art instructor. She took us along the dock to sightsee as she told us many interesting facts about the history and insights of the area. She took us on a wonderful gallery tour. We met and saw the work of Hannelore Miller and Katya Wittenstein. In addition to introductions the artists discussed their work with us and even how some of the pieces were created. We then went back to Susan's studio and were given a painting lesson by Susan.
I would say comfortable walking shoes and your wallet are a must. We bought a piece from every artist we met.
We LOVED it! I would recommend this trip to anyone of any age.

I was amazed at how much interesting history Teri imparted on our tour! She lives and breathes Sausalito culture and history all the way back to the late 1700s. And it gets more interesting as the decades continued, right up to the 60s counter culture and beyond. In fact, she relays so much information, all by heart, that I think I'll take her tour the next time I get a chance.

whilst in sausalito in june, i picked up a leaflet about walking tours of the town, which i thought sounded interesting.
i contacted the lady guide by phone and arranged to be at the fountains in the centre of town which was very convenient for the hotel sausalito where i was staying.
the walk along the bridgeway was leisurely, and she provides you with a knowledgable tour, that takes in the history, backed up by photo`s , and also includes the famous residents of the past.
. her leaflet advertised other tours of the town she can arrange, i intend to do one of these when i return next year.

We have been to Sausalito several time before but never really knew the history there. We learned a lot as we walked by many historic buildings. Our guide, Linda, told us about each of the historic sites and showed us photos of old Sausalito. She also told us many stories.

Teri takes the same care with her international travel clients as she does on her Sausalito walks. She set us up with a terrific trip to Indonesia and we will be using her again for our next trip to Vietnam and China.
