Victoria is a delight, and the Sausalito Wooden Boat Tour was wonderful. I am an anchor-out from long ago, and currently live on a boat, and I learned a lot! Highlights included the history of the Marinship, information about building wooden boats, and about artists...More

We stopped in San Francisco on our way to Hawaii and decided to spend the day in Sausalito away from the crowded streets of the big city. Victoria's tour was just the perfect choice for a cool, sunny afternoon stroll through the unique wooden houseboats...More

Victoria wrote the book (literally) on this colorful, eccentric section of Sausalito. This walking tour was a relaxed meander among the wooden boat house community and the boat building shops of the area. Victoria is part of this unique community and clearly loves it. The...More

Yes, I like to keep my walking tours small and intimate. Keeps them in scale with the ambiance of the waterfront and are alot more fun for all concerned. Thank you for appreciating this!

Victoria's wooden boat tour is as much a journey through houseboat architecture as it is through time. From the origins of San Francisco and Sausalito, through the shipyard boom of World War II, into the Bay Area culture of the 1960s, up to the artistic...More

There are many similarities between the flower children of the Haight Ashbury region of San Francsico and our early 'houseboaters'. Great that you got the spirit!

Away from the crowded downtown Sausalito where most of the tourists congregate, there is this great house boat or floating home community with unique ornaments and beautiful flowers and shrubs. Interesting to know too there is still the wood boat building in this 21st century!...More

So True! In fact, first painting I did when moving to Sausalito was named "Another side of Sausalito". I later renamed it "Final Days of the Wapamma" and it was the cover of the first edition of the Sausalito Wooden Boat Tour guide book.
