You will be transported back 50 years in this historical working boatyard. Great library, boat building tools, machines and artifacts. Freda, the oldest sailing pleasure vessel on SF Bay is at the dock.

It is phenomenal we still have this living history going on throughout the Sausalito Waterfront. Spauldings has been there since 1956! More

Victoria has a wealth of knowledge of the history and culture of the Boats and the area. She also is very entertaining! This is a great afternoon for visitors as well as locals. A must do! The proper tea at the end finishes a lovely and informative day.

Neither one of us had been to this area before and it seemed great to explore with the recommended tour from other travelers. Booked the tour for $55/person after tax (cant cancel at all). The group was just 4 of us and the guide. He was knowledgeable but his voice was a bit low so sometimes its hard to hear... More

Hi Linda, Sorry you were disappointed. A first. I'll remind Stuart to speak up! As stated on my website, I don't promise going into any of the boats, but your chances are better if pick a Sunday to do the tour. That's when the realtors have their open houses. I'm not sure why the tour was only 2 hours long... More

The Wooden Boat Tour is a must for visitors to Sausalito. This walking tour of the historic waterfront covers much more than wooden boats. I lived in Sausalito for years and have walked the same ground, but Victoria knows the dramatic history and made it all come alive for me. She has a vast store of fascinating anecdotes, legends and... More

The Wooden Boat Tour was tremendously informative and fun. Sausalito is rich in history and notoriety. A lot of colorful folks floated on these houseboats. Tour leader Victoria Colella guided us through skillfully and concisely.

A laid back walking tour which incorporates the history of the area ... its shipping history...with the architecture of boats becoming homes... with gardens that are restricted to pots and with tales of the fabulous eccentric characters that made California what it was and is....A not to be missed tour.

We enjoyed the boat tour, hearing the background of how these boats got here. At the end a nice snack was provided by Victoria at her place of business. It would be nice to if there was a boat that was available to actually go aboard but we can understand that it was an exterior tour and we did enjoy... More

Oh Ohio! While you enjoyed the tour itself, you did not like getting lost in route and not being invited on board a boat. Well, all I can say is directions and addresses were provided to you at the time of your booking and I do not promise any on-boarding, though it does happen sometimes. So if you can mark... More

I have a new appreciation for the houseboats and floating homes in Richardson Bay. Each and every home is the unique expression of its owner. Victoria has a wealth of knowledge about the history of the homes. It was fun to learn that the dock we stood on at one point was where Otis Redding was inspired to write "Dock... More

Victoria is a delight, and the Sausalito Wooden Boat Tour was wonderful. I am an anchor-out from long ago, and currently live on a boat, and I learned a lot! Highlights included the history of the Marinship, information about building wooden boats, and about artists (Varda), philosophers (Alan Watts) and musicians (Joe Tate) who live(d) on boats. Great tour, ending... More

I have lived in the bay area for 40+ years and never got out there to see the houseboats. What a treat to stroll among the many colorful and unique dwellings. Victoria had many interesting stories to tell about Sausalito history. We loved seeing the shipyards and the artist studios as well. Finishing with tea and cookies in her studio... More
