Good campsite, but...

We stayed in my VW camper while enjoying the tourmaline fee dig at the west end of the campground. The campsite was really nice in April. The kids and I enjoyed a pizza and... read more

I have not had the opportunity to stay at Lake Henshaw resort because when I called to inquire about the cabins I was asked to be put on hold and then spent the next 8.5 minutes listening to Edith's personal drama about someone not wishing her a merry Xmas and gossip about someone being a drunk while she talked on... We were on a bicycle tour and heard this was a good place to stay. VERY clean. Staff was nice. We only stayed one night so didn't really use the kitchen. It was small, but everything seemed in order. We thought the market would have more options. I would recommend going with the food you want to eat and not... More

Out of the way gem. Head north from San Diego, through some high desert. Find the nice little town of Santa Ysabel (small store, pie shop and a fantastic Rock Shop). Then off for a few miles to Lake Henshaw Resort. Really a mobile home park with camping area and small store and cafe. The folks at the store/cafe are... More

If I could give this resort a zero rating I would. The cabin were very disappointing, there were roaches, spider webs and all kind of bugs throughout the cabin. The furniture was like something you would find in the trash bin. The couch was stain all over and you would not want you sit on it,but the worse part of it... More

Our family rented all the cabins for Thanksgiving weekend for some 4 years. We relocated only because our family size out grew the cabin numbers. Trying to remember>>>seems about 8 years ago. Our experience was always very positive. The cabins were always clean and each morning they were refreshed as needed the same as ay hotel/motel. Heaters worked wonderfully; always... More

We stayed in my VW camper while enjoying the tourmaline fee dig at the west end of the campground. The campsite was really nice in April. The kids and I enjoyed a pizza and potato skins from the restaurant at the entrance and then had some popcorn before going for a late night walk and then scary stories. The roads... More

The room was dirty. The bedspread was so dirty when my grand-daughter pulled it back the sheet showed a dirty print of her behind where she had been sitting. There were rats in my son's room eating food on the kitchen counter and on the table. We asked for a refund for one of the nights because of the rats... More

I would not recommend staying in the cabins. They are in ill repair, taken over by carpenter ants and spiders. Reserved for three nights; slept in the cabin first night and in the back of our Expedition the next two nights. I'm no Prima doña and I went for the rustic, nature experience. Had I known the cabin would have... More

I think some of the other reviewers here should take a chill pill... You are renting a cabin for $65. What do you expect! After reading all the awful reviews, we were pleasantly surprised by the Lake Henshaw 'Resort.' Our cabin was cute, comfortable and bright. Except for the mini-blinds (and I challenge haters to go home and clean theirs... More
