Small-Group Santa Barbara Wine Tour to Private Locations

43 reviews
Tour Santa Barbara wine country with a private guide on this full day outing. Perfect for couples and small groups who appreciate exclusivity, this tour visits intimate, family-owned vineyards not typically open to the general public. Get the VIP treatment with tours of the cellars and vineyards, often with the owners themselves. You’ll never stand at a crowded tasting bar on this tour—it’s red carpet treatment all the way.

I decided to take my husband for a flight for his birthday. Wasn't really sure what to expect, but was up for the new adventure. It was quite cozy in the back of the glider (my husband being 5'9" and me 5'6") but it was fine for the 30 minute flight. We did the "mile high" tour. Terry, our pilot, was wonderful. It was amazing how quickly and easily we took off, how different and beautiful the valley looked from 5,000+ feet, and how much fun it was coasting around and back down. We look forward to bringing our daughters here one day when they get old enough (they are 2 1/2) to remember it. The day was rounded out perfectly by wine tasting. So many vineyards are just minutes away (and can be seen from the flight.)

I took my mom for her 85th, as well as my UCSB son. They did the ride together (2 adults is a tight squeeze, but it worked fine.... 1 adult and child is easier to sit in the seat). The glider pilot and the tow plane pilot were absolutely reassuring with all my questions, as was the owner. We loved it so much I got my niece and daughter a flight which they did right after. Our flights were at 5pm on a stunningly beautiful September day. The golden hillsides, wineries, and open spaces are incredibly beautiful. Their location is a few minutes outside Solvang and an easy quick drive or Uber from Solvang. This was absolutely well worth every dime and from what I'm told it was peaceful, quiet (except for some wind noise) and the pilot was very informative and you could tell this wasn't a job, but a passion. Well worth it and I highly recommend this! If I get the courage to do it myself I will; we will absolutely revisit and recommend them to anyone who will be in the area visiting Solvang or the local wineries. For family members who need to wait there is a beautiful sitting area with simply breathtaking views, water bottles, etc. An easy relaxing place to sit and enjoy an hour of beauty. Bring your camera absolutely and perhaps you'll even see an acrobatic plane (a different plane, not this company) come through. It's an exciting local municipal airport that's fun to sit and watch. I can't say enough how stunning the views are with the golden hillsides, oak trees, and blue skies for miles. If the owner is around have a chit chat; he's a likable fun guy full of knowledge and enthusiasm for what he does. Great day - 85 year old mom LOVED this and all 12 of us there to witness this fun truly enjoyed the time there.

We wanted a good long flight on a clear day to celebrate my birthday and got the gift of the warmest, welcoming pilot and flight crew possible. We flew over the Santa Barbara hills and coast in the distance. My wife has motion weariness and so needed a calm, easy flight that wouldn't get her sick. Terry was our pilot, she was outstanding in every way. She asked permission to dip a bit, all went well so we dipped a couple times more. It was a great time, we'll go again when we're in the area.
