Happen to visit Solvang city for Danish bakery to stay in Chumash Casino on 1/2/2020, the room so beautiful for $ 109.00, I check out the pool it is nice, I will come back on Spring or Summer t enjoy it, the room have to be few hundreds Dollars per night for that quality, It is not friendly for kids under 21 when go to eat at buffer or Wilson steak house we have to go through gaming area so we have to stay on the walk way designate for no gaming, the Steak house really good, it has wagyu steak, but I didn't try it I go for Halibut for my wife and Salmon for me, my daughter has prime rib. Good food. On the night we're there the buffer buy one around $ 25.00 and second one free, it is long line we don't have time so we go to steak house.
On the way get out Solvang we stop by ostriches farm for our Grand-kids, they loved it.

The are advertising Safe and Healthy. They take your temperature upon arrival and require a mask. However they still allow SMOKING! So the smokers remove their masks, inhale and exhale smoke thus allowing smokers to broadcast the virus on other patrons and staff.

And of course the second hand smoke is absorbed in your mask which starts to stink. -

Visited gas station. Not requiring masks to enter convenience store. Allowing patrons to obtain cups and pour drinks in violation of present County Health Ordinances. I mentioned the smoke issue to several employees and was met with indifference.

Lastly, they resent progressive jackpots on a lot of the machines to the minimum.

Won’t be back anytime soon.

I've been to a lot of casinos and frequent a local one 1 or 2 times per week. Here is why I rate Chumash so poorly:
1) The entire casino is filled with smokers. The non-smoking area is a joke, not only for being small, but the variety of machines is awful.
2) No room service and good luck finding a regular breakfast. Yes, you can get an egg sandwich at their Starbucks. However, most casinos have 24-hour cafes where you can get anything...anytime. Their cafe has been closed for 2 years.
3) No question they had a War concert and graduations, but I ended up paying $900 (which included fees) for 1 night! The rooms are nice, but give the above, never again.

This casino is the most poorly ventilated casino in California. At first when the casino is not that full of people you can tolerate it but during peak hours or at night or near midnight when all the smoke has accumulated you inhale all the smoke and you basically feel the congestion and stuffiness of the poor quality of air you are breathing. It is a pity to all the senior citizen and elderly people who regularly come here. You know why, they have been exposed to this polluted poor quality of air on a regular basis because when you see them- they appear like short of breath or dyspneic due to all the second hand and third hand smoke they have been exposed to for a long time. Now, if you want to play in the non-smoking area, you think the qulaity of air is better there? Absolutely not because it is just few feet away from the wide open smoking area and the ventilation there is even poorer. Why does the Dept of Public Health allow this such a small gaming space to operate with such poor ventilation? Take note that the second floor non smoking area is a little better and less congested but the slot machines selections are not much. Oh I have to mention that the slot machines on the first floor non smoking area have machines have buttons that need to be fixed as they are broke or not working at all. This casino needs a new President or a new management team. If you are one of the big bosses, please come and visit the casino area at around midnight or during peak hours and see for yourself what I'm talking about.

We were staying in Santa Ynez for a few nights and took a drive to the Casino only 1/2 mile away. Would suggest parking on level 3 of self parking which is the entrance to the casino.
It is a huge casino and to find the Video Poker Slots we had to walk the entire length and found it near the No Smoking section.
Didn't take long to lose my $15.00 but hubby next to me won $50.00 so all in all not bad for a 40 minute form of entertainment.

Love visiting Chumash. At time of check in, Yazzi was great. She ensure we were taken care of and felt at home. The casino gaming was OK. The slots were a little cold however I enjoyed my play. Food court has a decent selection of food. Wish the Cafe was open for breakfast. The breakfast served at Starbucks has not been good. Usually the breakfast sandwich or burrito are cold. However, the casino and rooms were great.

Recomend u travel 1 mile or less to Los Carlos Mexican restaurant for lunch and 3 miles to Paula's for breakfast.

On July 13 around 4:30am I was playing at one of the machines (Bank #2900, Machine #22243). The slot machine stopped at “Grand” prize. The machine’s volume started increasing then all of a sudden it switched backwards to “Free Games” prize. We continued playing until managers and supervisors came when we requested them. They checked the machine and told us they can only go back 10 games. I asked them to check on the video to see what has happened. They told me the cameras only show hallway and not the machines, which was very hard to believe. There are 6 cameras within 25-30 feet radius in that area. It’s hard for me to believe that those 6 cameras in that area only cover hallway and do not show what is happening on those slot machines. It feels like we are being scammed and nothing can be done about it. One of the supervisors told me to file a complaint. They will investigate it and if I won the “Grand” prize, they will contact me and pay my winnings. I left a feedback/complaint on their website; and now we will how they will solve this issue.

The Hotel was beautiful and the bed was top quality. This casino was rocking especially at the tables.Slot machines were either tight or loose I've gone 3 times in the last month and am still playing on my initial 400.. Floor workers are very friendly. My only negative is they no longer have the coffee shop.

They've added about 20,000 square feet of new gambling area and a new hotel tower. The rooms are really nice with great amenities. The table games are just like Las Vegas and there are a huge variety of slot machines...everything you'd possibly want and most of them are brand new games. When you sign up for a Club card you get $100 in free play...$50 right away and then $50 on your next visit. Have fun and good luck!!!!

We always enjoy the Chumash Casino. Due to COVID they only had a 1/4 of the tables open during the weeknights we were there which was kind of a drag. You had to do some hovering as you waited for a spot.

Most of the dealers were great and engaging. My favorite was Suellen - she was awesome! We had a great time
