The entrance through the gate requires a significant turn off the street. Their internal roads are also badly rutted with many potholes, so take it easy. Very nice location. On entering the tasting room we were advised the tasting fee is $18 and they only had 2 white wines & DW only drinks whites. As the driver I do not... More

We always take out of town visitors to Sunstone. It is either the first or last winery we hit. The courtyard is perfect for a picnic and they have just recently added a sports lawn that makes for a lovely relaxing afternoon with a bottle of their nice organic wine. Upon one visit, we were witness to a wedding proposal... More

If you want to stop at a charming winery for a tasting, don't miss Sunstone. The grounds are beautiful. The tasting room is so charming. Don't miss the Merlot! We also bought some of their olive oil and it is delicious.

Sunstone has lots of outdoor space with tables and great for a picnic. And, there are two indoor spaces for wine tasting. If it is nice out take sandwiches and buy a couple of glasses of wine and enjoy the Santa Ynez beautiful outdoors. Try their Cab.

The photos of the vineyard on-line are superb. But, that is not where you taste the wine. Rather, the tasting room is in a nondescript little building with picnic tables available. Pretty crowded, with one bridal shower and some tour bus folks. The wines were fine. Nothing special at all. The person serving us confessed to not knowing why the... More

Thomas was our wine host and did an amazing job! Very friendly and knowledgeable of the wines and he history of sunstone. Wine was excellent and the vinegar/oil tasting was unreal! Amazing scenery. Feels like Italy. Highly recommend.

My husband and I have been members for the past 18 years at Sunstone. The wine, the staff and exceptional graciousness of Bion Rice always exceeds expectations. We love having a picnic and tasting on the grounds and in the cave. A definite must for a visit to the area. We LOVE this place.

Absolutely beautiful. The wines were excellent. The guy doing the tasting was very knowledgeable and taught us a lot we didn't know about peak times to drink our wines and the wine making process. We spent a long visit there. Overall a great experience. Wines were a bit pricey though.

Went here for a wedding. The scenery was spectacular. You can see hillsides on many directions and of course lot of vineyards. We did get into the "caves" where they have winetasting (we went in at night for a private party). That looked interesting. We found the wines that were available to use to be so-so (pinot noir, grenache, and... More
