Always love stopping in at this unique property in Railroad Square. There’s quite a bit of quality merchandise tucked away in this well curated store. Easy to spend at least an hour here. When finished, a number of restaurants nearby will whet your appetite.

My family and I rode our bikes downtown just to enjoy a beautiful day. We ended up at Whistlestop Antiques. I used to come here often as a kid with my gramma but this was my first time taking others here. This place is absolutely beautiful inside and out. We ended up with a bunch of great finds and spent about an hour and a half walking the lower floor just drawn into all the beauty. I would highly recommend stopping by this beautiful location if you are in the area.

I told a staff member I was looking for something to take home that would remind me of my trip to Santa Rosa when I was asked where I was from. When I told him his reply was “I hear there are lots of bugs there”. Then another male staff member joined in about the state having sinkholes. Then there was a discussion between them about shootings. I love where I live and wouldn’t want to live anywhere else and found this very insulting. There is good and bad everywhere and I don’t understand why staff member would feel the need to say these things to a customer. Needless to say I left without purchasing anything.

Dear Sheila, I am so sorry that you had such a weird experience with us. That is not acceptable and I can only hope they were thinking they were being friendly and looking for topics of conversation. Apparently that was not the case and I apologize for their behaviour. I know you understand about bad apples, but I hope you will give us another chance . We really are generally very nice people who enjoy meeting visitors from all over the world. I am sorry it happened. Dee Richardson Owner, Whistlestop Antiques

I hit this large antiques mall as often as I can. Amazing selection of "smalls"- loads of vintage postcards and books, incredible jewelry, buttons and glass knobs. A lot of glass ware and paintings, lovely furniture.

Looks like an old department store, possibly. Amazing items, something for everyone. Prices are moderate to high, but then so is the quality. You could almost class this as a Museum. It was quite a stop, highly educational, entertaining, captivating and just plain fun.

Absolutely rude staff. There’s tons of wonderful antique shops to choose from in Sonoma County, don’t waste your time.

I could have spent an entire day here. Such a variety. From jewelry to old Time magazines and ads. This is truly a trip down memory lane. All of the staff we encountered on this day were knowledgeable and friendly. We will definitely return.

I was in Santa Rosa by myself for a quick work trip over 2.5 days. On the first day I was walking to dinner by myself when I spotted it and just had to go in. It's in a great old building and on the inside it is jam packed with antiques and vintage finds. It does remind me of booth rental stores you can find all over the country. The items I found most interesting were original hand carved duck decoys priced around $350 and several fabulous displays of Bakelite jewelry. I think it was getting close to 5:30 when I discovered the Bakelite displays and I really wanted to buy some. No one had a said a word to me when I walked in and although I stood at the display for over 5 minutes and a salesperson was right there, she never asked me if I needed help. Just when I was about to say something to her she rudely said to an older man behind another case that he needed to move to another area because they were getting ready to close. That is when I decided to leave without making a purchase. It was clear to me that they really wanted to go home (I understand that) but I felt really uncomfortable that they didn't just tell me that it was closing time and instead decided not to help me at all. Despite this, I think it would be a fun place to buy decorative items for your home (especially if you live in the area). Maybe they were just having an off night or it had been a hard day. I wouldn't know because I don't live there and the chances I'll be coming back soon are very slim.
