I am a wedding officiant and recently, on a Sunday morning, I performed a wedding at the lake's edge under beautiful blue skies and the warm Sonoma County sun. We met in the parking lot and walked along the path till we found the perfect spot right near the water. It was very romantic and filled with a great sense of joy. Nearby is another country park and lake in Howarth Park. Couples looking for an outdoor place to wed with choices that include rustic fences, tree covered paths or lake side beauty should consider Spring Lake and Howarth Park.

I have lived in Sonoma County for six years, but this was my first visit to Spring Lake. I will not wait that long again! Walk, jog, bike, boat, or ride your horse, all is possible in the lovely park. During my visit, the swimming area was closed, but you could probably swim on sandy Concession Beach where the boat rental is located. I took a walk around the lake using a combination of equestrian/hiking trails and the paved bike path, my distance was 2.5 miles. The are may side paths offering opportunities to extend you walk or run. Numerous benches and picnic tables surround the peaceful lake, which has a no wake boat policy (most of the boats I saw were human powered). The reed and tree lined lake path offers shady lake side and sunny vista views. There is also a children's play area.

We camped here for one night on a long road trip, and the park is beautiful. Our campsite (#5) was close to the lake, where we enjoyed a leisurely evening stroll among joggers and bicyclists. There is only one bathroom/shower building for the entire campground, and those facilities could use a little more attention. The nearby East West Cafe was a great find, and the perfect place to eat on our last night.

My husband and I decided to checked out this lake. We enjoyed walking around the paved trail which goes around the whole lake. There is a swimming area and an kayaking area too. You can have picnics, go swimming, kayaking, ride bikes, run or just walk and enjoy the beautiful scenery around you.

If you are looking for a park to walk in or bike in, this is a good park. If you are looking for a nice park with a great playground, swimming beach, good restroom, water fountains, flowers, mowed grass then look elsewhere. The state has a lot of guts charging $7 for this dump of a park.

My husband and I took the 2.3-mile paved trail around the lake as a welcome break after a long drive. It was very peaceful and beautiful there. Lots of friendly dog-walkers as well as a few joggers and bikers.

This is a local treasure. Beautiful lake surrounded by easy, walkable paths, bathrooms at regular intervals, this park was carefully thought out, or at least it seemed so to us. If you're a birder, this is a great spot.

We landed in Santa Rosa to check out the brewery, and were looking for a place to hang for an hour or so. We found this part on a map, and set by the lake on one of many benches, to read and just take it easy. At the our reading time, we went over the lagoon to take a dip. It did not look at that refreshing, but I wanted to get wet. I went in, and ended up swimming laps for 40 minutes. The water was great. there were no people splashing about, and the I was amazed that there was ample opportunity really get in a great swim. The park looked amazing. Boats, trails, etc. If we had more time, would have gone back and spend at least 1/2 a day

Spring lake has the obvious lake. One with decent fishing, a boat ramp, camping and a swimming lagoon in summer.
Many make a daily routine of walking or riding around the lake. Nice weekends are crowded and many have dogs. On lease is posted but some ignore.
As many have noted, Spring Lake is located between Howarth Park (City of Santa Rosa) and Annadel (CA State park). The parks are connected by trails and can be explored by foot or bike rather easily. Bring water with you if you are heading to Annadel esp in summer. There are also good group picnic areas available by reservation.
There are 2 main entrances to the park that require a fee. Many park on the street and walk/ride in to avoid the fee. A concession stand is usually open during the summer between the lake and the swimming lagoon.
The lake requires the use of PFDs on everyone, and is not for swimming or wading.

I travel with my dog and this is a great place for us to run. Dogs allowed, beautiful marshes and greenery, birds, and mostly level terrain. You have to pay for a day pass to park, and parking in the neighborhood outside the park is for residents only. But it is worth it. In the spring, many birds are nesting, even large owls in one of the trees each year.
It is a bit of a different experience than Anadel Park, which does not allow dogs. There is an island and a swimming area for children, so it is very family oriented around Spring Lake.
Worth the stop for your daily walk or run.

The campsite only allows two cars per reservation and I’m the third car. Can I park nearby in the residential area for a night (sat to Sunday) and walk to the campsite?

I hear the swimming lagoon is closed due to Covid. What about boating?
Is it possible to swim at spring lake after Labor Day? It says there is swimming between Memorial Day and Labor Day, but does that mean it is prohibited to swim or hang out near the lake at other times of year?

You can definitely hang out but no swimming after Labor Day. Bring a picnic, hike, relax.

i've asked this 2x now, and Tripadviser tell me someone answered, but i find it impossible to find the answers anywhere on this site. My question again is whether SpringLake park is good now for seeing blossoming trees (if so where) and early srping flowers and if so where, and if not, what park near Santa Rosa would be?

This would not be the place to for seeing blooming trees. I'm embarrassed to admit, living here my entire life, that I can't think of a place here where you can experience that. Sorry. Hope this makes it to you.

If you are looking for spring flowers, you may be disappointed with Spring Lake Park. While there certainly are flowers in the meadows, they are subtle. Yesterday, I saw only one small section which had a large number (maybe 15) of ornamental fruit trees. These were blooming, though they were not in full bloom. There is really no equivalent to a Longwood Gardens-kind of a place in Santa Rosa. The Luther Burbank home has some plantings, although it is just one garden. Rgds,

The spring blossoms are beginning now and will probably continue for the next few weeks
There are fruit trees blooming all over the area
I am not a park/city employee. I have nothing to do with the telephone message but think there's no answer on Saturday or an updated message due to City budget cuts to the park
Just go enjoy it
Parking and entrance is free
