This was easily one of the most fun things I have done in a LONG time. Well organized, well run, and very challenging. The puzzles are tough, but solvable, and none of them left you thinking, "How would I ever get that?!?" Solving each puzzle to get to the next step was very rewarding, and never knowing when the last... More

Wonderful way to spend a day in Santa Monica especially for guest. Local knowledge only a slight advantage. More about wisdom and luck, than physical conditioning.

I didn't know what to expect, have never done one before. Soooo much fun! Clues are very smart, some of them were really hard. I though I knew the area very well, still had to think hard and fast. We had a lot of fun! Totally will do it again. Absolutely recommend

Except for the mix up at the end of the race, it was great! This race really challenges your body and mind. For those of who don't like to run, like me, it's possible to complete this race in decent time, just use all the brain matter you have!

We did this with another family and we saw many things that we never would have seen even though we live in Los Angeles and have been to Santa Monica hundreds of times. We all had a wonderful time, it was hard, creative, mentally challenging, physically enduring and 100% FUN! It was a perfect activity for our "kids" who are... More

I went with three friends to do the race. I have done other races with City Race LA but this was different. In general, each clue directed us where to go next, except for one or two. We would have enjoyed it more if the weather had been cooler. One team dropped out because they found the lack of direction... More

Dear Jacqueline, Thank you for your review. We are pleased you thought our game was fun for all; but we are sorry that you didn't enjoy it more due to the weather. The hot summer months are definitely a factor in the race and that's why we recommend every team hydrate themselves thoroughly and often during the course. We're glad... More

We had a lot of fun! The clues were challenging, but if you don't over think things and pay attention to the materials given, you will finish the race!

Dear ppmkgdpp, On behalf of The Amazing Santa Monica Race, we are very disappointed to hear that you were frustrated and discouraged by our event. This is the very last thing that we wanted. In fact we strive to achieve a mind blowing experience that our racers will remember for the rest of their lives. Fortunately, as evidenced by the... More

Our family played the game as a team, and it was a great family bonding day. We've also done the Fantastic Race Los Angeles, and both races were a lot of fun.

This was so much fun! It's the third one we've done - we also did the Cozumel Race and one of the LA races. The races are so much fun. It's a great way to spend the day. It can be physical, especially if you are competitive and want to win, but also mentally challenging. My dad is 71, and... More

Staying in Santa Monica

Neighborhood Profile
Santa Monica
Santa Monica is a coastal town that maintains a balance as a tourist destination and as an area with a thriving local culture. On the beach, bikers, roller-bladers, runners and walkers move along the famed bike path enjoying the beautiful Los Angeles weather. The solar-powered Ferris wheel at the Santa Monica pier spins high above the water, while park revelers scream with delight riding the roller coaster. Inland from the beach, Third Street Promenade bustles with shoppers and street performers, where every block seems to have a musical or acrobatic act drawing crowds giving Santa Monica both the feeling of a laid-back beach town and a major commercial hub.
