Having lived in the area for a few decades, some things NEVER get old! I had visitors from the east coast this week, and #1 on their to do list was to taste some of our local wines. So we picked up our picnic lunches...More
We visited Foxen winery. The Pinots, particularly from Bien Nacido in the Santa Maria Valley and Melville Estate in Santa Rita Hills were extraordinary, bright and nuanced expressions of the Pinot Noir grape, balanced but challenging in its nuance of berry flavors. So, too, was...More

Hi- There are more affordable hotel options in Solvang with many different price options. Marriot Buelton is right off the 101 and not far from many of the bike trails as well. Dr J's in Solvang is the go to for renting bikes or they do organized bike tours guided and non guided. Lots to see! VRBO offers great options if you are looking for a private home but usually have a 3 night minimum. I have a house right off the bike trails we rent out often to bikers in Los Olivos.
