At Margarita Adventures, we offer a uniquely thrilling perspective on true California landmarks-the historic Santa Margarita Ranch. On our zipline tours, you will embark on six distinct ziplines spanning more than 7,500 total feet, starting with an epic 2,800-foot tandem line. Flying next to a friend or partner, you will conquer a broad 6 different ziplines at heights reaching 30-160 feet above the oak valley. Along the way, you will learn about the ranch's remarkable natural features and history. You may even get a chance to see some of California's incredible wildlife! Our ziplines are an epic journey you will never forget! Advance reservations are required. During your tour, you will discover why Sunset Magazine called Paso Robles "the West's most exciting wine region." With our six ziplines, we aim to change your perspective, both literally and figuratively.

We purchased the Sip & Zip package through one of the affiliated hotels. The price of the stay plus the package was almost the same as the price of the package alone, so it was as if we stayed for free :)
The package includes zip lines and tasting at the nearby winery, as well as small plates and kids’ drinks. Total time suggested was 3 hours, but you should be prepared to spend at least 5, as there were delays.
First, we waited for over 30 mins in the lobby for a group of 6 people who were running late. Next, we were taken by the shuttle to the ranch, where we went through a brief training and gear fitting. Our kids are 13 and 9, so they could ride the smaller zips on their own, but on the bigger ones my wife and I took turns riding in tandem with them.
All the staff was extremely pleasant and helpful. The rides were exciting and beautiful, with nice views of the vineyards below. We do recommend booking the earliest time slot possible, especially in the summer, since it can get pretty hot. We went in December, so it wasn't an issue. An in all, ziplining took about 2.5 hours, including the ride to the ranch and back (and not including the initial wait time). The time could vary, depending on the number of people in your group and the number of guides.
After the zip lines, we went across the road to have a tasting and that's where things went south. Despite the light traffic in the tasting room and ample staffing, the service was REALLY slow. At first the staff there didn't want to acknowledge all the perks that were included in the package, so we had to wait for the manager to come and clarify.
Then it took them almost 30 mins to bring us the included charcuterie plate. By that time, we were getting really hungry, so we decided to also order sandwiches from the menu and have lunch at the winery. BIG mistake. It took them another 40 mins to make 4 sandwiches. Our kids were getting really anxious. It was past 3 PM by the time we got out of there.
Overall, the experience was good, just make sure you don't plan for anything else that day, if you go for the Sip & Zip package. :)

We stumbled upon Margarita Adventures while wine tasting in the area. What luck! Just a great experience! The 6 zip lines are strung over the Margarita ranch/vineyards...beautiful scenery. This is a very professional and safe operation. The staff were very courteous and friendly. Well worth the price of admission!!! Next time we'll take the tour of the ranch as well.
I recommend the mornings over afternoon as the winds are likely stronger mid-day (also hotter).

We recently went on our 2nd zipline tour on the beautiful Santa Margarita Ranch. Check in during COVID was easy and safe. The staff were courteous. Fun day! We recommend signing up for the early tour during warmer months. You have to do a little bit of walking up hill in between two lines so be prepared. There is a prerecorded informational message about the history of the area on the bus to the main sight going and coming which was very interesting.

This zip line might be OK for beginners. There are only 6 zip lines and two are so poorly designed that you can't finish them; you slow down and then stop and are left hanging above the vineyards until a "robot" comes along the zip line and pulls you to the end of the line. I have zip lined all over the world and this is first time I could not "finish" a zip line, let alone not be able to finish 2 of them. Since the owners can't lower the finishing areas, the only option they have is to raise the starting platforms. And I've been to places where the wind slowed me down but never stopped me. These two lines are quite simply very poorly designed. Even the guides could not finish without pulling themselves in.
Since zip lining is all about speed, the wind in your face, and the views, paying for 6 zip lines but getting only 4 is not a good deal. Although the scenery is nice and the company takes safety (including COVID-19 precautions) seriously, until they fix the problem in lines #1 and #6, I cannot recommend this place.

Margarita Adventures is one of the most well run adventure companies we have ever used. Their staff is geared toward ultimate safety and friendliness. We had a group of 11 family members ranging in age from 7 to 74 and everyone had a blast on the Zip Lines. They are hyper focused on the COVID safety standards for both clients and staff. Felt totally comfortable the whole time.
Bus ride to the Zip Lines includes a great historical narration of the Santa Margarita area and ranch. Saw Deer, Wild Turkeys and other small wildlife on the drive up the mountain.
There is some walking between Zip Lines with the hike up the hill to the last run being the steepest. Our 74 year old managed with a few stops. The hike is well worth the last Zip Line. It was the fastest and seemed to have the best views. Flying over the grape vines was the best.
We look forward to coming back and trying the twilight evening Zip Line Tour.

So much fun! Attention to safety is amazing. Every aspect of the equipment is doubled what is necessary. Friendly, experienced staff. And all part of Ancient Peaks, allowing for a wine tasting literally across the street when finished. The two 15 min recorded history lessons of the ranch and region as you meander across part of the huge ranch were worth the price of admission alone! All in a quaint little town, similar to perhaps Los Alamos. Hungry? Stop at J's Country Kitchen for huge servings before zipping! Fascinating area, delicious wines, and a wonderfully fun zipline experience. Taking friends and going back for certain.

I'm 62 & my sister is 74 & this was our first zip lining experience. COVID-19 affected our travel plans & contact accessibility while park was closed but general manager Brittany rapidly replied to my emails & helped us get tickets for the one day we had available. The experience was AMAZING! Safety is a priority & staff got us geared up & rechecked equipment several times between lines. We flew 6 lines over trees, vineyards, deer surrounded by beautiful vistas. Hardest part was walking up a couple trails because of altitude, but we went at our own pace & there were plenty of water stops so we stayed hydrated. Safe hygiene protocols prevent staff from taking pictures so work out photo ops with your partner(s) including switching who goes first to get various angles while in flight. Sadly, again due to virus, the affiliated winery was dropped from the experience but the price was discounted so can't complain. From what I've seen on other zip line websites, Margarita Adventures offers more bang for your buck, whether you're experienced or novices like us.

This activity was awesome! It's worth how much you pay and the staff was very knowledgeable and friendly. With COVID, we were worried about what precautions they would be taking but their protocols were great! They take social distancing, sanitizing and air ventilation very seriously and we were grateful for that. Their equipment was also sanitized before use and everything was clean and safe.

What a fun day we had yesterday. About twelve of us with a few kids around eight or so and my friend at 78. I am 74 and really had a superb time. The accent of safety and customer service was so apparent. Brittany driving the bus with a historical narrative and then Emma and many others making sure everyone was safe and enjoying themselves. This is an outing well-worth the money. The views are inspiring and the experience memorable. I hope to go again some day but have to stick with my bucket list. Just do it!...

My family had such a great time!! The staff was so kind and friendly. We felt like they took our safety very seriously. There was never a moment where we did not feel like our safety was their top priority. Everyone was wearing masks at all times and they had covid procedures in place the entire time. I highly recommend!!! We can’t wait to book another zip line adventure with Santa Margarita!!!!

Is there an option to accompany someone but not do the zip lines? There's no way I could do it, but I want to be there to experience it with my friend and meet them at the end of each zip line.
How much does it cost per Person and what are the age limits and restrictions
