My 6-year-old daughter has to be dragged out of this place each time we visit. The museum, which is a bit hidden, is actually quite spacious and has lots of fun exhibits for children to play with. Z loves the technology area, where she plays with the video microscope and creates buildings that later fall down on the earthquake table. The kinetic sand box is also a hit, as is the big blue blocks in the imagination play area. My 10 month old likes crawling around the toddler area and playing with the mirrored ball. I never get out of there in less than 2 hours.
We are members and I volunteer there, so I am a bit biased, but the reason I volunteer is that my kids love it so very much. The museum is a non-profit. I would say the best ages to visit are between 1-8.

So many different rooms with great exhibits to keep my 15 month old nephew entertained and a fun few hours for the adults too. Lots of big and little people seating available.

We needed a place for our 2 year old grandson to stretch his legs on a rainy weekend. This place was perfect! Many activities for them to explore and some areas dedicated to very young children too. He loved it!

Taken by grand children there. Lots to learn, touch, feel and see!! The docents are very informative and love their jobs. The kids actually learn allot. Recommend for summer activity!

The museum is fairly new but has a lot of hands on exhibits for children ages 2-5. The children will love this place.

So much to do with a toddler. This place will keep them occupied for hours. The only downside is that they have only one restroom. With potty-training toddlers this presents a big problem.

If you've been to the Lawrence Hall of Science, you've seen a better version of this "museum" filled with fun activities for kids 10 and under. There's a mix of science fun and just plain slides and things (over-sized blocks and numerous interactive activities). My grandson (3 yrs old) enjoyed racing plastic cars down a chute and playing in the sand box. We adults joined in.and stood around. It made for a 90-minute slot in a lively afternoon. The location inside a mall seemed curious.

Nicely presented play things. Some might teach a bit of science. Some don't have instructions re what to do (the pipe organ, for example). Good try but no cigar.

This spot is geared primarily for younger children (under 6) but is fine for up to 10 or 12. Located in the 41st St. mall.
