I had a great time learning to surf with Manwell and Jack! Both guys were super knowledgeable, super friendly, accommodating, and helped all of us catch waves! They made being out in the ocean very very comfortable, which speaks volumes since I'm someone who recently just got over my fear of swimming this year. Our whole group had a great time and everybody was able to ride multiple waves. Christina sent out a text the day before to let me know which beach to meet at and made the details very clear. After I learn a little bit more surfing on my own, I'm definitely booking more lessons with these guys!

They have a fantastic way of introducing you to the waves. I have taken about two classes so far with Rick and Shay. Both the classes were amazing, the whole group was successful at riding the waves within the first 20 mins.
After 6+ years of living near Santa Cruz, this was a great way to get introduced to the Santa Cruz waves and my latest obsession.
Ps: this class was during covid. Club Ed’s did great with wearing masks, distancing and helping keep us all safe.

Che gave surf lessons to my daughter and her friend and it was a great experience from start to finish. Professional and fun, they both caught many waves for first-timers. I've been lucky enough to spend time in the water with Ed and knew that lessons were better coming from his team and would make a lasting impression!

This is a top day out and a great opportunity to get out on the water. Our two coaches were really friendly and worked hard so that we had a good time. They provided all the equipment that we needed i.e wetsuits and surf boards. We spent a short time on the beach practising how to stand on the board etc. and we're then out on the water.
We were encouraged to go at our own pace and each time we rode the waves the coaches gave us tips.
We are a family fo 5, with grown up children aged 20, 18 and 14. Everybody in our party loved this experience and it has whet our appetite to learn to surf when we're back in the UK.

Highly recommend! Xander was a knowledgeable, professional, and fun instructor. Ed organized our surf lesson and connected with us personally. He offered us recommendations for local restaurants/activities and truly cares about each person. It’s not a business for him, it’s a passion :) As a tip, if you are booking a surf lesson and haven’t gone swimming recently, try to get out into the water a couple of times to warm up your muscles in advance if possible.

I took a private lesson with Ed and it was such an unbelievable experience. He is kind, patient and extremely good at what he does. Ed was an excellent coach- I learned so much in my lesson and I am grateful to have met someone like Ed. I would 100% recommend to anyone who is wanting to have a surf lesson.

In town from NY and had only been surfing once and never caught a wave. Booked a two hour private lesson. My instructor was Evan. He was super nice and patient with me. Paddling and the pop up was the hardest part, you need to paddle hard to catch up with the speed of the wave. In the beginning I needed some power boost from Evan to get the right speed but with some good instruction I got the timing right and caught 3 waves by myself. He’ll also give you some cues and when to pop up so you don’t pop up too late and get caught in the wave. Private/semi private is going to get you attention you need as a newer surfer. I was out the next day by myself with a rental board. I’m hooked. Highly recommend them if you’re in town.

Che was the instructor for me and my son, and we learned a lot about surfing the waves of Santa Cruz. It was a big day with chest high waves, but Che really helped us on the paddle out. He is an experienced life guard, and we felt safe being watched by him and he gave us some really good tips. I was out of surf shape, but still got some good rides and good instruction. My son did a lot better, and Che really helped him improved his wave selection and timing with those big waves. Overall we had a great time even though the waves were a lot bigger than what we were normally use to because we are based on the east coast.

We had an awesome surfing experience with Rick and Matt fro Club Ed. These guys are friendly, knowledgable and got our entire group surfing in no time. Even my younger son, who was a little nervous caught some awesome waves thanks to Matt's friendly instruction and rapport.
Highly recommended and we will definitely be back!

Ed was a fantastic coach for me and my 16 year. We are total rookies and caught countless waves. His surf tips were spot on and will serve us well, but his stories and broader wisdom helped make it a very memorable and enjoyable day. Highly recommended!
